12:45 p.m. Thursday — While I was updating the state soccer blog, I managed to gather information from the poll for online football Game of the Week and after a massive rush in voting, Friday's 8:30 p.m. matchup between Boise and Borah at Bronco Stadium came away the winner by a hair.
Here's the final breakdown: Boise-Borah (51 percent), Mountain View (49), Weiser at Fruitland (0), Melba at Parma (0).
The Boise-Borah game is the second half of a doubleheader Friday at Bronco Stadium, which begins with Mountain View-Timberline at 6 p.m. I'll be there for both games.

Mountain View takes aim at its first 5A District Three championship in girls soccer when the Mavericks host Boise at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Boise (12-2-2) handed Mountain View (13-1-3) its only loss this season, but the Mavericks 8-0-1 since that 4-2 setback on Sept. 10. The Braves are 7-1-1 since winning that match. Both teams have lethal strikers in Shalese Miller for the Mavericks and Miah Mollay for the Braves.

Shalese Miller netted a pair of goals and Mountain View withstood a relentless Timberline assault Monday as the Mavericks upended the reigning 5A girls soccer state champions 2-1 in a District Three Tournament semifinal at Mountain View.
“We were fortunate to get through,” said Mountain View coach Jason Lang, whose goalkeeper Nicole Schultz finished with eight saves. “We had a really strong defensive effort. Timberline is extremely tough and possession was definitely in their favor.”
