Sadie Stutzman of Fruitland High and Adam Lambert of Mackay High were chosen as Idaho's winners of the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
Both are now eligible to compete for the national award that celebrates hard work, dedication and exceptional records in athletics, academics and community leadership.

FOOTBALL
Jaxon Pryor, Skyview: The junior running back led the Hawks (8-3) on the ground in their 4A state quarterfinal win over Minico. Pryor had 32 carries for a game-high 247 yards in a 28-14 victory. Skyview led 28-0 early in the fourth quarter. The Hawks now take on defending state champion Blackfoot (9-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Holt Arena in Pocatello.

Of the 45,000 seniors who applied nationwide, 193 applicants came from Idaho for the 2012 Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
Idaho's pool was narrowed to 20 on Tuesday, and one boy and one girl will be named the state's winners beginning Nov. 5.

FOOTBALL
Tanner Gustavsen, Boise: In his final high school game, Gustavsen led the Braves to a come-from-behind 62-61 win over Meridian. The senior quarterback completed 29-of-39 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, and also ran for another 85 yards and four more TDs. Gustavsen scored on an 8-yard run with 1 second left in the game and then ran in the two-point conversion for the victory.

Josh Buss, Mountain View: The Mavericks kept their playoff hopes alive with a 48-22 victory over Eagle. The junior running back rushed for a school-record 244 yards on 28 carries with three touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 30 yards and another TD.
