Sex crimes

Each day when I sign on to the Idaho statesman I wonder what so called sex crime have occurred this day. And I am never disappointed in what I find. But what I just don’t understand is how many more prision we are going to build to house these young men who are having consitual sex with 15/16/17 year old girls. When are we as “open minded” people going to realize that our daughters at age 15/16/17 are very capable and willing to make the choice as to who and when they have sex. Why are we holding our boys to a higher standerd then the girls?

reality of unemployment

I have heard some talk about unemployment rising and how it's a terrible thing and needs to be prevented. I completely disagree. Unemployment in the United States is very low and we should be happy about that. Having 94% of our population employed is a major accomplishment.

Pamela Anderson vs Jessica Simpson

Today I read that Pamela Anderson called Jessica
Simpson a B***** and a Wh*** for wearing a T shirt
stating "Real women eat beef". I can't believe it!
Here is a woman who throws her naked body all over
the place, engages in "for sale" video pornography
of herself and yet expounds on the "nobleness" of
her PETA activities. I'm sorry PETA has an issue with the food chain. These people are complete bunch of idiots if it were not for celebrity and Hollywood

Gun rights

The Supreme Court struck down the District of Columbia's ban on handguns. A historic victory and a step toward guaranteeing unrestricted Second Amendment rights to law-abiding Americans. How do you feel about the Supreme Court’s decision?

You know your an Adafornian if:

1)You consider McCall north Idaho
2)T shirt and shorts are appropriate year around
attire.
3)You've never lived outside a ghetto or home owners association.
4)You've never seen an assault rifle let alone a real
firearm.
5)85 mph is the national speed limit.
6)PETA is a government ministry.
7)LA is the actual national capital.
8)If Hollywood hasn't produced it than it doesn't exist.
9)An attorney is more important than a doctor.
10)You have to be an actor to be a politician and
a politician to be an actor.
11)Camping is something you saw on "The Brady Bunch"
the closer to fellow campers the better.

DUI arrest turns up body

Complete with an eye-catching title, drunk and disorderly behavior, and death, this news release caught a lot of attention in Norther Idaho recently.

"GRANGEVILLE -- No drugs or weapons in the car, but there was this body....
Idaho County Sgt. Herb Lindsey had an interesting find during an arrest for drunk driving last Tuesday, June 3.
Charged with DUI, the suspect, Jason M. Harwick, 36, of Lewiston, was questioned on what items he might have in the vehicle, and he answered he was transporting a deceased person from McCall to a Lewiston funeral home in the 2003 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving.

Animal Rights, Animal Wrongs

When ever this subject comes up, I am always surprised, even shocked at the sarcastic, hostile responses. I dislike the term animal rights for just that reason; it seems to engender such emotional responses in people whom I assume are otherwise caring folks. The idea of animal rights is not new or odd or extreme. Most every civilized nation on earth including the USA has animal cruelty laws. That says to me that animals do have certain rudimentary rights not to be abused or tortured. Look at the recent outcry against dog fighting, the abuse of downed cattle and the torture of the puppy found here in Idaho.

What should be done about dog poop and off-leash dogs in the Foothills?

What do you think should be done about dog poop and off-leash dogs in the Foothills? Do you think the fines -- $25, plus $41.50 in court fees — for failure to comply with leash laws are enough?
