General news
HSUS
I am surprised the "Misstatesman" being the liberal rag it is had nothing on the Humane Society of the United States
recent episode of verbal diarrhea.Their issue was one of making animal cruelity a felony in Idaho.Maybe certain
episodes of animal cruelity should be a felony but beware
folks this radical group of idiots is closely allied to PETA.Groups who care nothing about human suffering or their
impact on human medicine, the economy etc.Groups like PETA
and HSUS need grabbed by the scruff of the neck and tossed out of Idaho period. They need to be told to take their
Idaho Wolves
Now that the hunters are out, Lets hear what they have to say about whats happening in the woods.Just north of Boise where I live, Every hunter Ive talked to this year has encountered many wloves. I think we need to start sharing our information so people will get a real idea of how many animals are out there. And people need to know what to do in a wolf incounter.

GREAT NEWS!There is an rapidily growing organization out there called "ConsumerFreedom.Com" with the
great intention of wiping PETA and HSUS off the planet.Seems as if many people are sick and tired of these "wackos" and are wanting to do something about

Offshore Drilling -- Govt. Report
The Truth About America's Energy: Big Oil Stockpiles Supplies and Pockets Profits (2008 US House report):
"Between 1999 and 2007, the number of drilling permits issued for development of public lands increased by more than 361% ... oil and gas companies have shown that they cannot keep pace with the rate of drilling permits that the federal government is handing out. ... companies have stockpiled nearly 10,000 extra permits ..."
So..., do we really need to remove bans on drilling offshore and in Alaska...???

Freedom Cages?
If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?
--
As of late, authorities at political events have taken to creating special areas for protesters, peaceful or otherwise, severely curtailing free speech and blunting, even eliminating any show of dissent.
At the Democratic National Convention in Denver these were dubbed "Freedom Cages" (An oxymoron if ever there was one).

Forum topic: Marijuana Deprioritization / Decriminalization
On 09 August 2008, The Boise Picayune posed this question (via email) to our Federal, State and Local Elected Officials, those Seeking Office, and Members of Law Enforcement:
"Currently before the 110th Congress of the United States is H. R. 5843 - Act to Remove Federal Penalties for the Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults.
Would you please share with the public whether you intend to support this legislation, and briefly express your views on deprioritizing or decriminalizing the personal use and possession of marijuana by adults."

Is the mercury -that- dangerous??
I'm blown away that they are spending days and days and how many thousands of dollars tearing up a Boise neighborhood because they found what... a few tablespoons of mercury? I suppose back in the 60's we didn't know any better, but I recall having a toy maze with a blob of mercury in it as a kid.

Fire policy
Scientists say forests need fires to be healthy and that homes and communities can be more cheaply and safely protected with "firewise" preventive measures such as adding fireproof roofs and clearing trees and shrubs within 100 feet of structures. But fire suppression costs have still risen by a factor of more than six in the past decade, to almost $2 billion, while grants to take steps to protect communities have dropped by a third to around $80 million. Should we change our tactics?
