Real Change For A Better Boise

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! ~ Albert Einstein

* Stable city management by a professional, accredited City Administrator free of partisan politics

* Apportionment of the City Council for truer representative government

* Accreditation of the Boise Police Department and reconstitution of the Office of the Police Ombudsman's Office into an "Office of the Citizen's Advocate" for all of City Government. An office found in good government everywhere.

Likelihood of Recieving Share of Stimulus package

I'm an Undergrad at the University of South Florida. I'm conducting research on Idaho - I'm looking at everything from demographics to geography to the economic state, etc.

I would like to get your opinions on the economic state of Idaho.

In your opinion, what do you think the likelihood is that Idaho will get all of their share of the stimulus plan? Do you think your officials are powerful enough and assertive enough to get what they ask for in terms of funding? With the possible jobs the stimulus plan will create, what is the likelihood Idaho will get those funds?

Will The Real Slim Shady Please Stand Up...

The entire State of Idaho has fewer people than Manhattan Island, and the City of Boise fewer than most neighborhoods in an American City...

Yet Boise is populated by a convolution of Quasi-Governmental Entities (i.e. CCDC) and Political Fiefdoms (i.e. GBAD) who's real purpose appears to be to relieve the Mayor and City Council of any real responsibility or accountability, and perhaps most insidiously, to provide plausible deniability.

Is It Time For a City Manager?

The Caldwell Guardian recently raised this question in relation to governance in Canyon County.

Staunton, Virginia is the Birthplace of the Council / Manager form of governance. Created in 1908 during the Progressive Era to remove city government from the machinations of politics, and place management of the city into the hands of a trained, accredited executive who would remain neutral to city politics.

Mosher's site comes to you, since you won't go to it.

Spread the word. from www.freewebs.com/davidinthehouse

I am David L. Mosher and I have thrown my hat into the Idaho 1st District Congressional Race as an Independant Write-In and I hope for your support in November. I am about strict Reform. And a lot of it. Right now we need doers in Washington, not more talkers. What I would like to do is to give more power and attention back to our State, meaning that we would do more to take care of ourselves than to rely on the federal government to help us out when we need it or to actually believe them when they say they're looking out for our best interests when they're clearly not. We do have State Tax and that is what it is for. We should re-work out State Tax to fit our budget and to compensate for our own needs. For instance, we, like the entire Country, need to fix our infrastructure. Washington isn't going to help us out with that as they have shown. If our schools need to be taken care of we would compensate that into our State Tax. We could even have our own Fair Tax, which I am for, because it would make doing your taxes a whole lot easier.

Wasted Days and Wasted Nights

That's all.

Risch 'cuts' - Risch LIES

Jim Risch’s current political ads offend me. To claim that he ‘cut’ our taxes is a lie. During his short term as governor he had a surplus of tax money. What did he do with it? He increased our sales tax. He cut our property taxes yes; but, with the huge government increase in property value my taxes actually went up. Jim Risch does not deserve to represent us; he clearly proved that during his short term as our governor.

Larry Craig's comments towards Obama

I find it completely absurd that Sen. Craig felt necessary to make comments as those on KTVB.com right now. I would think a senator of ours should know how many democrates Idaho has and realize that this state is no long just a red state - it is moving forward to a more democratic state where Idahoans do matter in the national spotlight and perhaps it is time we have a younger "more in-touch" presidential canidate. Isn't that what everyone says - its the next generation that leads us....perhaps its time we all stand up and show how many democrates Idaho has that we are ready to get rid of the

Idaho Dept. of Insurance thinks Toyota ads promote fraud?

Ever been in an accident with someone insured with that lizard/Geeco gieco, or what ever the caveman insurance company is called? I was & there was more fraud involved than I would suggest the same Idaho Dept. of Insurance allow.

If this doesn't make people realize how & why you pay all the taxes & why they contribute, I guess nothing will.

www.nextrevolution.net
Take campaign contributions given to our representatives & tax contributions given to potential representatives. The same paper, same day has an article about raising taxes to pay for roads. If the Taxpayers were smart we would beat our representatives black & blue over this crap. If these insurance companies can afford to advertise, contribute, & pay lobbyist than we need to tax lobbyist & commercials too.

Detox center

I don't understand, need $ for a detox center? I posted something about taxing alcohol & some clown, bobnidaho suggested he's been a bartender & most of them don't care how much people drink. Claims it's all the responsibility of the person drinking.

That tells this taxpayer we need to have a certification for bartenders! If little bobby thinks he can serve someone until they're falling down drunk he shouldn't be a bartender. The bars that hire idiots, don't take responsibilty, then our representatives need to so we don't pay for their ignorance. They are making a fortune & I read editorials everyday complaining about taxes!
