It was a beautiful day for the 32nd annual Race to Robie Creek. My assignment was to photograph the race in the middle of the course, so I took to my mountain bike and looked for some interesting vantage points to shoot from. Despite the numerous accusations of "cheating" by the runners, it was an enjoyable afternoon traversing Rocky Canyon.

Mitch Kohler, 12, right, sits patiently in his director chair while film crews prepare the set for "Star Waiters," a Star Wars parody starring Kohler as Luke Piemaker. Mitch was born with the genetic condition spinal muscular atrophy and has always wanted to be in a Star Wars movie. Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho is making his wish come true with a short film starring Kohler.

Bike courier Patrick Sweeney rides along 8th Street Thursday afternoon in sunny downtown Boise. Sweeney and Warren O'Dell, are co-owners of Northstar Cycle Courier Inc. I've been shooting video and writing a story about their company the last two days. Look for it in the Idaho Statesman and on our website in a couple of weeks.

We photographers, even when we're on vacation, usually are still taking pictures. Just can't seem to stop.

I spent my Easter weekend with friends at Bridger Creek outside of Bozeman. The top photo was taken on Easter morning, the bottom photo before my drive back on Tuesday morning. Both were taken from the same spot (more or less) from the porch of our cabin.

I was assigned to shoot the Idaho Legislature this morning. After covering these sessions for more than 20 years, I'm always looking for something other than a politician at a microphone. Sen. Nicole LeFavour was shooting photos with her tiny digital camera Tuesday. She said she was putting together a slideshow to share with others.

I came across this image on a gas stop in Bliss, Idaho over the weekend. The store has been closed for a few years which accounts for the tumbleweeds. The only thing missing was a John Mellencamp tune.

I'll give you three guesses as to what this is......

Ok, I spent pre-game of Friday's Steelheads game shooting in the tunnel area. The black marks are where the zamboni is parked.

Often referred to as the Niagara Falls of the West, Shoshone Falls are worth traveling to witness in person this time of year before irrigation season begins. The falls are located five miles east of Twin Falls, Idaho.

Boise State's Laurel Wyatt made a great effort to get to this fly ball during the game against University of Nevada on Friday, but she came up short on the play. Her teammates were there to pick her up afterwards.
