Children participating in the Boise School District's Summer Literacy Program at Horizon Elementary in Boise were in the Olympic spirit Thursday July 26, 2012 with a torch-lead parade and students carrying international flags. The celebration marked the final week of summer reading camp for the children, a week themed after the Olympics.

The 4H livestock competition had the Canyon County Fairground corrals and arenas buzzing with excitement Wednesday July 25, 2012. The annual fair opens Thursday July 26 and continues through Sunday July 29 at the fairgrounds in Caldwell.
