I've seen evil a couple of times
in my life...this is one of them. This kid needs locked away from society. God bless the little 5 year old girl..
mini
what angry
Just looking at this kids eye's tell you that he is one trouble child. And I agree he should be tried as an adult. He did an adult crime with out any remorse, he should go down like an adult.
How do you know
he dosen't have any remorse? He is very troubled to be sure. To say he has no remorse, well you just do not know that. They have yet to publish anything he has said or to let him say anything about it. I agree he needs to be locked away for a very long time. He should also receive intensive mental therapy. In this picture he does not look evil to me. He looks like he is pouting like the child he is.
hmmm
I can tell you the detectives who worked this case state he has no remorse. I don't remember the technical pyschological term, but it has something to do with not having a conscience...that's him. Meet him in person and you'll have a different opinion.
SOCIOPATH
I believe is the term you're looking for....and that's not a curable personality trait...
scarey..
I have met him in person
He seemed to be a smart*** and compulsive liar, but otherwise above average intelligence. I suspect he has been abused in more ways than one. I would like to know what events led up to this crime. Did something happen at school that morning or was it something the night before? There is so much to this that we are not being told because he is a juvenile. To say a 12 year old boy is evil is just wrong. They also said he knew the little girl, but not why he may have did this to her or anybody.
What's up with the faces this kid makes
Damn, this kid is pure evil, you can see it. His other photo was pretty scary also. I agree with the other posters that this kid needs some serious mental help pronto. At least they caught this kid before he could become a serial rapist or killer. With our prison system though if he does get out he is more than likley ro reoffend again.
What
could have happened in his young life to make him do something so horrific? I am by no means pointing fingers at the parents but has there been any investigation into their lives?
spartan material
What would the Spartans done with a person like this? Not supported him with food, housing, med care, psych care, dental care.... for the next 70 years.
Spartan fodder
Ya I think I know where your going with that comment and I fully agree.....He's never going to be fit for society, just a drain on the ever growing system.
evil
What a worthless puke.
A Sociopath
A sociopath can lead a normal noneventful life. It is a disconnect in the brain that can cause this. Not necessarily anything the parents did or didn't do. Some people just make choices they think are normal and o.k. That's what the mental sickness this kid has does to him. I'm not saying he doesn't desserve a very bad punishment, I'm just saying sometimes the parents are not to blame.
The parents and parenting
were not and are not "normal" by any stretch. This kid was exposed to all manner of nasitness in his life, by biological and step parents. I still think there should be some shared accountability here. Pam Miller is his mom and two weeks after she did an interview on television, telling what a great kid this boy is, she was picked up for DUI, felony probation violation and is now in prison. Peaches, the lot of them.
Bad picture
Is it just me or does the picture of the kid designed to make him look guilty. I know I am being judgemental but I found myself saying, "look at that brat, figures he'd do something like that" Bad picture or not if the kid did it he needs to be punished as an adult.
Why do I have this sick feeling
that the same conversation was had years ago about Dahmer, Gacy, and yes, Duncan? If something drastic isn't done with this kid, we will be wondering what happened 15-20 years from now!
Zoom the picture
Doesn't his head look like it is spun around backwards?
"This is my rifle
there are many like it but this one is mine" the kid looks just like the guy from Full Metal Jacket, Private Pyle.
Spudman
You totally nailed it!
This is disgraceful
Anyone who supports the decision to try a 12 year old child as an adult is mean-spirited and out of touch with civilized notions of decency. Sending children to be used as rape fodder at the state prison does not qualify you for heaven when it is done. God likely will judge you more harshly than he will judge this very sick boy.
There is not ONE modern documented case in the US of trying a child this young as an adult except in a few rare cases of murder in Florida and South Carolina. Florida always pushes the envelope - it is no longer news when they try 13 year olds so prosecutors had to drop down to lower ages to get headlines. Ask yourself why the prosecutor is doing this here - what is his true purpose? What if this kid had been 11? 10? How young is too young?
Although the prosecution alleges attempted murder here, the circumstances sound like a panic-stricken 12 year old who did something awful, realized what he had done after a frenzied act, and attempted to flee the scene. The girl recovered after several days in the hospital - that doesn't sound like ateempted murder to me - despite the descriptions of the two witnesses - who BTW - seemed able to restrain the boy with little effort. If he had wanted to kill her, he could have done so - children have successfully murdered other children since antiquity (it is not a new development) - he could have bashed in her head or choked her until she completely stopped breathing. The police ALWAYS allege that the suspect has no remorse. I expect that the boy did not show traditional remorse because he was too young and immature to understand the nature and consequences of his actions - or too emotionally disturbed and mentally ill. Remember that he is now an adolescent - much bigger physically and the press photo here is deliberately designed to make him look menacing. Your responses indicate that their biased photo was quite successful. But I see a kid who displays the physical symptoms of fetal alcohol syndrome or some other neurological disorder - note the size of his head and his features - which may explain sociopathic behavior. We know that children that young lack the cognitive ability to fully understand the nature and consequences of their actions. We also know from statistics that 12 year old sex offenders can be completely rehabilitated - despite the Mainstream Media Myths to the contrary. We also know that the Center for Disease Control has published a report that says that children tried as adults are at much greater risk for re-offending. If you try this kid as an adult and send him to the state prison, he will certainly continue to be sexually abused (as he likely already has been). He will not be rehabillitated and he will be a greater danger when he leaves. Let's face it - he will get out some day. You had 10 years to see to his proper treatment in the juvenile system - that is plenty of time and plenty of punishment for someone that young. What does the prosecutor hope to gain? A forced guilty plea brought on by sheer terror of decades in adult prison, confinement that will include adult time and take the boy into his 20s. Then you should be REALLY scared because if he spends even a moment in adult prison, he will be in danger of sexual abuse, which will wipe out any progress that he makes in a youthful sex offender program.
Stop this insanity. You shame yourselves with your brutality and cruelty. You shame America.
Somebody needs to get his/her facts straight!
No 13 year old is sent to State Prison. They are held in Juvenile Corrections facilities until they are 18. That's the first of many inflammatory and erroneous statements you made. The next is that he is MUCH BIGGER...it was a year and some months ago...not five years ago. I doubt he's grown 3 or 4 inches and gained 5 or 6 pounds. His mug shot is the real telling one. He has a big smile on his face. Nice. It's okay to defend your stance with facts...but don't bs us. We're not idiots.
Hey Mr. attorney!
Anyone who thinks a human being can do to another human being what this person is accused of doing without consequences is a complete idiot! To justify, condone,or rationalize this behavior is what is shameful! "If he spends even a moment in adult prison, he will be in danger of sexual abuse". Maybe sort of like the danger he placed a FREAKING 5 YEAR OLD GIRL IN?? If he winds up being "Bubba's girlfriend" GREAT!
I hope he remembers how that little girl felt while he has something akin to a subway car inserted in one of his orofices!! And, in addition, I don't remember advocating he ever be released into society again! With arguments such as yours, no wonder we are cursed with the likes of Duncan, Dahmer, and Gacy!
There is no hope...
for us as a society with attitudes like yours. This child needs help. Hate is an attitude that will never solve any issue. Locking up children, which the U.S. does more than any other nation, do not reflect well on us as a civilization.
Oh Pleeze!
What a joke you are! And what a joke you make of your profession. You did get one thing right though. The Prosecutor does wheel and deal for headlines. Take Dave Young for example; his own son is a pervert, and about to plea to possession of child pornography.
Dave's Chief prosecutor, Virginia Bond, walked into court with Marc Young, at his arraingment with Dave Young in tow. Wonder who gave "free" advise on that case.
Save your cross examination for the 5 year old, or someone like her, that you can convince is the person in the wrong.
A lawyer - get a life!
yeah...
Yeah...the fact that she was only in the hospital for a "few" days is pathetic in so many ways. No child should have to be in the hospital because they were sexually assaulted and have to stay there to see if they heal correctly or if they would need surgery so their body parts would function correctly.
perhaps...
Bubba can perform an exorcism on this sweet little angel.
Duncan needs
a cellie.
