The far reaching effects of Colonialism can never be seen during the time of the offence.
The arbitrary maps the French drew up are causing some real problems now...

The techniques are a little more subtle now, but the goals are the same. Colonialism is alive and well in iraq, et al.

"colonize" Iraq, it's more of a neo-Imperialism.
