Well boned face?
Well boned face?
Well boned face??
We heard that about Larry Craig too...
Hummmm I wonder...
Who would have thunk it?
man...
you sure dwell on a certain subject.
usually has something to do with perversions.
There's going to be...
...boning?
BroncoBro..
Boning, Like a boned chicken?
Well, heh, heh...
if that's what turns you on!
Good...
It's about time...
thegreencantina and the progressive way
Seeing as he was 84 years old, it was as you say "about time". But then we know you weren't talking about his age were you. So let's get right into your subtle meaning. You disagree with his politics because you are an enlightened progressive and Charlton, well he disagreed with you and actually believed that an individuals right to bear arms is in fact a good thing. So you are glad he's dead. Wow, what a way to go through life. So, nothing I or anyone can or will say will make you a decent human being but I just wanted to see if you wanted to expand on your ignorant comment and convince us that the world is a better place with you in it and Charlton dead. So enlighten us.
That did sound harsh, didn't it...
I truly liked Heston... I thought what that pig Michael Moore did was disgusting..
I say I'm glad he died because I've had many family members die from Alzheimer's...
Better to die than to live in the dark like that... He deserved a better death...
I'm glad he got it...
re: That did sound harsh, didn't it...
Well , that sure is a lot better than the way it sounded. I apologize for jumping to the wrong conclusion. Thanks for clearing it up.
No problem...
I can see your point, but for some reason the "edit" button is gone from that post...
The day I watched that fat pig interview him, I knew exactly what he was... How that dirty stinking sweaty pile of slop earns a living off of his tripe... Boggles me...
Wow Cantina, you a progressive now?
..
No...
... But I just saved a bundle on car insurance...
Oh,
I thought you stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Express.
Isn't it terrible when the commercials are more compelling
than the television that surrounds them.
It's not surprising
In light of that fact that television programming exists primarily for commercials. The pioneers of early TV. had no qualms admitting this fact. TV is all about the commercials, the programs are secondary. Big corporations budget hundreds of millions of dollars for TV ads. They want viewers to buy their products. Millions also go into producing even the dumbest commercials. All highly research and tested to obtain maximum impact. They're also the reason that network TV is free. Next time you watch an NFL game, count the number of commercials. It will blow your mind.
And then there's "Paid Programming"
Left the TV on Fox 12 yesterday after something that I wanted to watch was over, and one of those "Paid Programming" shows came on. Pure commercial, but then....there were commercial breaks for the paid programming!
RIP Charlton.
B-dub
One commercial I can't stand is Burger King.
Can't stand Burger King's King. He's a peeping tom. Comes into your bedroom and the wife says to this stranger (the King) "Oh, Nice hands." It's as if there is subliminal messsages working. He's praying on you, the spouse and the kids.
Open mouth, Insert foot, Chew
No Cantina was just temporarily misunderstood by me. I jumped the gun, so to speak, opened my mouth and inserted my foot. Now I'm just going to sit here and chew awhile. Reminds me of some other embarassing comments when I was younger :)
How can you end a post with a sentence like that?
I am eagerly awaiting your childhood embarrassment stories, and I promise I won't tell anybody....
NICE BACK STROKE...TOO LATE....
Your true meaning is crystal clear. This lib may not have agreed with his politics, but he was a good man who never compromised his ideals in a town where most aren't so diligent in matters of character.
You obviously don't know me very well...
I don't backstroke and I don't change my opinions because someone doesn't agree with them...
Neither did he... I'm also a Ted Nugent fan if you must know...
I meant exactly what I said... I'm glad he's dead. I've watched too many people die these horrible deaths not knowing their own children's names... It's humiliating for them and crushes the family.
And as long as there are parasites like Michael Moore out there, willing to take advantage of disabled people, he's better off dieing... He should have died in a western gun fight, though...
Or while imprisoned by those damn, dirty apes!!! (no, not liberals... apes...)
Our Family is Going Thru That Now.
An 83 year old member has Altz's and has for a while. He gets mad when the person in the mirror won't talk to him, refers to other family members who have passed on years ago, can't remember his own kids names, trys to put his shirt on as his pants, I could go on.
It isn't fair.
What it does to people. I knew a lady that would get up at 3:00 A.M. to fix oatmeal for all the people that were coming to visit her without notice. That went on for about a week before they put her in a retirement home. Fortunately, she passed quickly, that is a terrible way to go.
RIP Charlton
A great man who led a great life. If I can accomplish ten percent of what he did in my life I will die a happy man.
Yahoo
the planet will belong to apes again, won't miss that bonehead.
Excuse me,
did you say bone? Count me in!
You'll only take my guns from cold dead hands was his motto
So bury the old guy with his guns and let him be happy.
He was a great actor. Then he became an extremist and developed Alzheimers or the other way around.
Time has come
and I'll step on his face while I'm at it.
Maliengus... where are you on THIS post...
No criticism... no admonishments?... Or do you save those only for people with different opinions than your own...
Narrow minded and short sighted...
Awww, GreenCantina...
don't be so damn sensitive....lol. And, if you must know, I wasnt around when the moron above left his comment. I don't spend HOURS here like some people.....LMAO.
I thought it was "Keep your hands off me,
You damm dirty ape!!" I always loved that line. Don't know why. I guess it was the absolute defiance.
"GET YOUR FILTHY PAWS OFF ME....
you damn dirty ape!" My kids and I watched Planet of the Apes on Friday night. They've been saying that line ever since. They think it's hilarious. They're 6 and 8 and seem particularly gleeful that Mom is suddenly letting them get way with saying "damn." They keep looking at me sideways. I guess I shouldn't be letting them get away with it. I suppose I better put an end to their hilarity before they say it at school on Monday...lol. Anyway, they were fascinated with the movie and I had to laugh at how corny the dialog was, but I remember when Planet of the Apes came out, it was the coolest movie out there.
Your post--
just made my day. For some reason, I ended up with an image of a kid being dragged by the ear by his teacher to the principals office screaming, "Get your paws off me you damn dirty ape!" That cracks me up!
That image is very "Bart Simpson" Toadfish
He was an extremist because
He was an extremist because he believed 100% in the right to bear arms? And would never go back on his convictions or bow down to the hollywood wack jobs? That is what makes an extremist in your eyes Zeke? I love how some people can call anyone that doesn't agree with them an extremist. And yet somehow can look in the mirror and convince themselves that they are not.
He wanted protection for law abiding citizens to be able to own guns if they so choose, just as the ammendment states. Notice I said law abiding... ya, what an extremist he was Zeke!
I'm walking da floor
over you , bumpa pum pa bumbumbum, remember a life is too short to spend it on a message board , get alife.
Pot calling kettle.......?
..
Did he still have a gun?
Who had dibs?
Charlton Heston and Idaho
The single most significant contributor to Idaho's thriving economy over the last twenty years was voters' adoption of a Right to Work law in the 1986 election, immediately after which the state's job creation and income growth rate skyrocketed and has never looked back.
And according to polls immediately following that election, Charlton Heston was the single most persuasive personality on either side of the campaign.
He visited Boise for a pro-Right to Work campaign rally at Capital High School.
And the former two-term president of the Screen Actors Guild (AFL-CIO) appeared in the campaign's premiere TV ad, as follows:
"I've played men like Tom Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln, all of them heroes defending American freedom. There are Americans still carrying on that fight in Idaho, where citizens want the Right to Work without being forced to join a union. Now as a former union president, I believe Americans should be free to choose. We're all watching, Idaho. Strike a blow for freedom. Vote yes on Referendum One."
Salute to an American icon, hero, and freedom fighter who deserves much of the credit for the fact that no Idahoan today can be discriminated against and fired merely for choosing not to join or financially support a private labor organization.
Now that was funny.
Guys, Heston was an actor. He played to any audience who bought his goods and fed his coffers. Unions in Idaho a threat? Get real.
Heston was no different than the likes of Limbaugh and Coulter. I would like to think that insanity only came with his diagnosed Alzheimers. Now back to burying him with his cold dead arms wrapped around his guns. Histrionics and theater run supreme.
Give him his just due. Let the old guy die with his guns and his NRA badge. What a complete joke.
Idaho's booming economy
I liked Heston .
(But he did the people of Idaho no favors when he pushed right to work laws.)
Lets get real about right to work.
You can call Idahos economy what you want but proving it is something diffent.
When one compares Idahos median family income to the 5 states around us, we are the back of the line. And that does not include benifit like health insurance and a retirement package.
What the right to work laws do is drive unions out of the state. This lowered pay and benifit packages for non union workers.
Parto
Parto : Labor Unions
I confess I don't know much about "right to work" States. I do know it includes ( I think) employer policy of termination without stated cause or reason, or termination "at will". Could you elaborate a little more and throw the basics at me?
Thanks
Right to Work Overview
Right to Work Law.
wis
Good morning Wis.
Right to work.
In the America system someone does a job for you they get paid.
Under Right to work laws employees do not have to pay unions after they negoicate with employers on their behalf.
Right to work laws prohibit agreements between trade unions and employees that make union membership or dues a condition for employement.
The result is weaker unions.
As a direct result pay goes down for union and nonunion employees.
(becouse employers do not have to compete with unions for employees)
What I see is the biggest issue is not pay but benifits.
Health care / Retirement.
With health care, because unions have a bigger labor pool the cost is lower for unions to give health care to members then small companies. (that is also why Starbucks can give health care to their employees and not the corner coffie shop, a larger labor pool)
Retirement
As union member ship has fallen in America the number of Americans with retirement plans has gone down. Also many companie retirement plans are being under funded United Airline (for example) or the money ripped off Wien Air Alaska.
This is not to say there is not a lot of bs that goes along with union.
Also I might note I have never been a member of a union
having worked for myself most of my life or non union.
Parto
Thanks Parto
and good morning to you.
I have particpated in Union Negotiations before, in state with no right to work law. Not a pleasant experience by any means. In fact, many union employees represented resented some of the Unions approaches, policies, and motives. But that was a very limited experience, so I make nor draw any large emcompassing conclusions from it.
Right to Work -- the basics
Right to Work has nothing to do with Idaho's employment "at will" law. Idaho was an "at will" state before Right to Work and remained so afterward.
Right to Work laws prohibit collective bargaining contracts that include a "union security" clause under which every worker at a unionized site -- within 30 days of being employed -- must "join," i.e., start paying dues or fees to the union -- or be fired.
Idaho's Right to Work law makes it illegal to discriminate against and fire an individual for choosing to join or financially support a union -- reaffirming the protection found in federal law -- but adding the reverse, that no one could be discriminated against and fired for choosing NOT to join or financially support the union. Thus, the principle of individual freedom of choice was legally established, leaving the question to each individual employee without fear of reprisal regardless of which way he decided.
This issue was debated in Idaho continuously from 1977 through the ballot measure in 1986. It passed the Legislature in 1985 by overriding Dem Gov. John Evans' veto.
Right to Work opponents gathered enough signatures to put the question on the ballot of whether to keep the law. National unions spent $3 million against the law, while pro-Right to Work Idahoans spent $1 million supporting the law, including running the Charlton Heston TV spot from June through November.
Do you know anyone...
Do you know anyone in Detroit Michigan? Give them a call and ask them what their precious union has done for their lives. Unions have out-lived their usefulness, Time for Americans to start working again, albeit at a lower wage, but at least we can manufacture competitively and keep people employed. Employers can no longer afford to pay $25+ per hour for a job that is only worth $10.
toadfish
boy I lit up the lights up with this one.
Dear toad
your arguement ingnores a few other issues. Like trade policies that make it impossible for American car companies to import cars into Japan China.
The fact that most of the imported cars are built by union labor BMW,VW, Mini's
ect.
Or the fact that Americans did not want to buy American made cars at any cost.
A good example today is the Smart car it is built by union labor is by no ways cheap and people are waiting in line for them.
Parto
.I am sorry I can't keep up the fight but I have to go to work, yes I work 7 days a week.
Parto--
Thanks for the reply. Didn't mean to get you too worked up. I do agree with you that there are other issues associated with automobile manufacturing. Unions have "negotiated" their constituents right out of work in Detroit and have greatly contributed to our "economic slowdown" quickly becoming a recession. Michigan is the worst state in the U.S. for employment and forclosure. Chrysler plans to lay off a large portion of it's workforce this summer to rehire people at half the wage. I disagree with your statement, I believe Americans would buy American autos if they were more affordable, the problem is they cost more because of unions.
Unions, and corruption walk hand in hand. The union reps make huge sums of money for their exec's by not only extorting the people they represent, but the companies their constituents work for.
Ever been to a trade show in Vegas? I have. Do you have any idea how much it costs to set up a booth because of union labor? They stick you for outrageous fees for everything. To the point of being ridiculous.
The other problem is it is difficult for companies to fire union workers. Even if they are terrible employees.
As major corporaions fold and seek bankruptcy re-organization, all those retirement benifits will disappear, just like those who worked for Enron.
Have a great day, I appreciate your comments.
