Welcome Home to Our Troops

I'd like to use this space to say welcome home to the 366 Wing Airmen who returned today from Iraq. I appreciate the sacrifices you made in serving your country.

My nephew, Specialist Brett Russell in Iraq near Baghdad

I bought you your grave in the family section, which is next to the grave of your Grandfather and five feet away from the grave of your Great Grandfather in the same cemetery where your Great Great Grandfather is buried along with his daughter, my Great Aunt Evelyn and so many others of our family, but Brett I do love you and hope that you will not need to use that grave for many many years to come, but when the time comes you will rest with your ancestors. I want you to come home as soon as possible, I am very proud of you because I know you are doing your very best, I miss you more than I can ever say. I love getting e mails from you. I just hope you come home so that you can become an ancestor yourself, the family needs you to carry on the name. You remain in my daily prayers. I love you and I look forward to the day this war ends and you are home once again. I pray for world peace so no soldier ever needs a grave to wait for him at home.

Prayers

Best wishes and prayers for your nephew Brett. I have a son in Iraq right now and understand the mixed pride and fear you balance as you try to support them in best way you know how.
