Cost of living
Interesting and where does it all end? All in the name of materialism.
cost of living
What is included in this cost of living. Seems as if many items are included that most can not afford such as health insurance, which as suddenly become considered a basic neccessity. What are the basic need to live today?
cost of living--------klee1943
You don't need health insurance ( Just ask Bush ), all you need to do is go to the ER . Thats the kind of leadership this country has ------ scared yet ?
Reddog
Of Course
What else can happen in a Right To Work State dominated by Republicans!
You're on the wheel
Right-to-work protects the rights of employees.
This is a wheel that turns and turns. It's much like the age-old question: "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?". You can claim that the gap in pay vs cost of living is due to the lack union support or fair wages. Then again, you can see so often that with forced wage increases due to the socialist unionists, price increases are sure to follow. Then wages must be increased again to compensate. How do we stop the wheel from turning?
Right to work is for Tycoons
Despite your political status, if you think right for work laws are good for anyone but Tycoons(like those that run Idaho and a couple other states) you are wrong. Right to work states are strongly controlled by big business and have little if any "trickle down" effect like they want you to think. Myself, and many others have moved from such corrupt states and learned otherwise. And no, I am not a democrat, will never be one, and don't need to be one to understand it. The state I live in is heavily republican, and no, to your surprise, has not priced me out of existence(SW Idaho's real estate prices are proof of that). In fact, taxes are much lower here, partly because there is a stronger tax base because few people make 8-10 lowly bucks an hour. And, we don't believe in "comp time" or other looser benefits. "Right to starve" states, as I call them, also depend heavily on federal public assistance, which is contrary to any conservative movement. I won't even mention the fact that few people here have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet.
I was once one of those folks, slaving away, hardly seeing my family just to listen to the propoganda that I would give away my gun rights (which are tighter in ID than here) and loose my current job if I lived in a state with anti-Simplot/Otter agenda.
Go figure. Do some research. Idaho would be much better off with such an agenda. The only thing that supports it right now are those with a vested interest in maintaining such a status quo.
Also, at least some of Idaho's delegation support non-documented workers. Why is that? To help you and others? I doubt it......
Inflation
Unions are GREAT for union members! Unions induce inflation for everyone else.
The best example of the waste of unions is the carpenters union paying unskilled workers $12/hr to hold a picket sign in downtown Boise. UNSKILLED workers....here's your new job, "Hold this sign."
The carpenters Union here is
The carpenters Union here is not affiliated with the AFL-CIO, which most of the Unions in this area are. The rest of the Unions in this are do not approve of what they were/are doing on that job. There were 2 actual Union carpenters picketing, the rest were Labor Ready workers or were picked up from the mission. As an IBEW member, it disgusted me.
VbroncoAfanB- in theory the right-to-work helps the employees but in reality it helps the employers. It has become a right-to-fire/right-to-layoff state.
Good!
I'm glad it's become a right-to-fire/right-to-layoff state! Businesses should absolutely have the right to fire or layoff their employees whenever they feel the need.
Please explain to me how we have any right to tell a business how it should be run? Explain how the Consitution would give the right to one group to tell another what it can or cannot do in the business realm.
The fact of the matter is that you and I have no right to tell a business who it can hire or fire. They will make the decisions based on what is good for the business/share holders. That's called capitalism. It's a beautiful thing. As I see it, you have job security when you are an invaluable asset to the company.
Your unions are full of dead weight employees. I've seen it time and time again. Over-paid fluff and blow-hards are the bain of hard working Americans. I don't doubt that the majority of the union members are hard working, but the union is an enabler for lazy people to get an easy paycheck.
...Vbron...
Union are their own worst enemy
The people in charge of unions promote greed. Sounds like government & the campaign contributions corporate un-America buys our misrepresentation with for pennies on the dollar. Billions of $ made while thay pay 10% of taxes & we pay the other 90%. It used to be 50/50! That is what campaign contributions did. They create jobs that pay minimum wage & the people making minmimum wage pay all the taxes.
Illegal immigration has been promoted for years as a favor to campaign contributors to hold down & cut wages. What has illegal immigration brought in return? Crime, drugs, health care costs unaffordable, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, going broke. Americans used to do the jobs Bush lies about US not doing! FACT: MEATPACKERS made $12 an hour in the seventies & eighties. If the American people made a decent wage they could afford to buy US products produced by American workers who don't contribute to campaigns! When I make good money I spend more money just like everyone else. People who don't make enough to survive can't spend $ they don't have. Bought anything from China lately? Promote slave labor to get lead poisoning! How much is a cheap toy worth if you include the price of your child's funeral?
Government has it backwards! Cutting wages, free trade, outsourcing, tax cuts, & all the crap we're seeing has a track record that can't be denied. A $9 trillion track record, & a list perpetual but all we see is more tax cuts for campaign contributors. Every government agency in America is failing. The only unions that are really healthy are government unions! Government employees will have Veteran's day off & many veterans will be working if they have a job. The paper just printed an article pointing out that 25% of America's homeless are veterans. Bush is about to start another war & he hasn't been held accountable for the one he is screwing US into debt over now.
www.nextrevolution.net
ideas: tax campaign contributions, end government holidays, {Veteran's Day} private industry doesn't provide, tax alcohol, Cut the pay of our representatives, eliminate their health care & retirment,& more. This is what they are doing to US. We provide jobs just like the corporations who buy our representation. Government jobs with unions & paid holidays we don't get. If the American worker can be replaced, health care eliminated, retirement & Social Security going under, well so can our employees & their benefits! Millions of Americans work for US taxpayers. Micron isn't Idaho's largest employer, taxpayers are! The same is true for all of America! We are the America's largest employer. We are shareholders in the largest corporation in America, America itself!
Whay are our employees accepting $ from all the smaller corporations & giving them tax cuts We as the boss have to absorb? This lie has gone on for $9 trillon to long!
Quit whining about taxes unless you're prepared to put your name on something like an idea to make the wealthy pay. They enjoyed all the tax cuts & moved out of country or hired illegal workers while WE The PEOPLE pay all the taxes they evade through campaign contributions. You representatives aren't just playing footsy in airporat bathrooms they'r getting rich selling you out! Craig promotes illegal immigration at the expense of the American taxpayer/worker! Craig would sacrifice Salmon which brings in how $ money while promoting illegal immigration which sucks the life out of America! We need some people who represent US, not contributors. We pay the wages of representatives, millionaires who can't possibly relate to a $9 an hour living we have to survive on!
Sure unions created the high priced labor but why did it happen? The US government/Dept. of Labor allowed abuse by corporate un-America. Your employees didn't take care of you, they took your $ & they took care of the people who could afford to buy their service while on your payroll!
Idaho is a perfect example with all the poverty & good old boy politics selling out the people. Developers have been making out like a bandit at the expense of the people who lived here for years who now can't afford housing or the property taxes. Tell me there aren't any kickbacks! Just like screwing up Iraq our government abused the Native Americans, stole their land, ran the Spanish out, kidnapped the Black into slavery & still abuse all these people! Can't deny it, if you do your a liar!
Saddam was the best friend we had but Bush had to get him! Who gave Saddam all the WMD we claimed he had to start with? It's all about Bush, he was Y2K & will be the end of the world if we let him. How much $ has the Bush dynasty made? How about full disclosure? Why wouldn't We the People demand full disclosure by all our representatives? Where do they invest while we absorb the losses?
Your politicians are in the pocket of anyone who can afford to buy them! Alcohol, DUIs, cops being hit by drunk drivers while hauling drunk drivers to jail? There are some bars in every city that send thousands of drunk drivers out on the street every year. Police arrest a small percentage but the majority don't get caught. Why does any bar that served ten people who were convicted of drunk driving still have a liqour license? It costs $800,000 for every alcohol related death by some statistics. Why does someone who doesn't drink have to die or pay for this when billions are made by contributors?
Taxes pay for police, courts, county jail, detox center & prisons are full, insurance, 87% of inmates in for alcohol & drug related crimes. Hell you can't drive without a seatbelt but government promotes srunk driving & the sale of alcohol. Why do we pay employees to work at liqour stores? Let private business do it. There are a lot of ways to cover the costs directly related to drunk driving. Your politicians won't act! They are promoting business that contribute to their campaign, proofiting on the death of innocent people. They started a war over the one time death of 3,000 Americans but promote business of the death of 17,600 every year! That is criminal!
Tax campaign contributions, tax alcohol, shut down bars that overserve. If agri corruption gets a $288 billin farm bill make farm labor pay a $10 an hour minimum wage with health insurance! Why give the rich a free ride & then allow them to promote poverty we all pay for, coming & going, & back again. Health care, Social Security, crime, jails, drugs, & all that crap is due to the buy out of democracy yet we promote war promoting democracy? It isn't even democracy anymore. Bush has been running a dictatorship since elected. Y2K & we think the end passed us by! Bush is the end of everything American!
Democracy needs an overhaul. Campaign finance is a crime responsible for billions in more crime! It's a perpetual crime our misrepresentatives & corporate un-America are profiting on no differently than a drug dealer on the street. Terrorist can't lose against a country that allows this kind of ignorance while promoting the same ignorance with war costing billions more while beating the working class to death! An educated society wouldn't go for a scam like this. Scams are written about in the paper everyday, phone scams, identity theft, phony checks & they are nothing compared to the greatest scam the world is witnessing in democracy/campaign finance!
Terrorist/bin Laden have to be dancing around the cave with their favorite goat dressed in a pretty red dress! Victory through democracy & we're dying to pay for it!
Wow!
If your point is that all elections should be financed by tax dollars so everything is out in the open, I absolutely agree with you!
Socialist Unionists
Soooooooooooooooo The reply to my statement kind typlifies what I believe when I see the castles sprouting here and there. Inn the right to work state of yours. Those are all you Republicans who use us socialist unionist taxes to justify your tax breaks. Those of you that think a right to work law protects your rights. Remember Idaho is an at will state. If the boss don't like you, yer gone. No reasons. No questions. Do the research. As for me I would rather be a socialist Unionist than a Republican
Well, who wouldn't? After
Well, who wouldn't? After all, as a socialist, you don't have to worry - the state will provide everything you need. Just look at those great bastions of socialism that endure today! A solid middle class, nobody goes hungry and everybody has everything that they need. Or something like that. Just ask the Chinese, Cubans and North Koreans about the benefits of their socialized society.
Idaho the "Red State"
I don't see much difference in individualist Idaho, about as hard a struggle as most, commie socialist contries
More freedom
Maybe so, but we're afforded more personal freedoms.
...Vbron...
More Freedom ?
You think, ever been outside of Idaho, out of the US! Travel about get a new view! Worldwide Indicator Report which ranks countries by the amount of freedom citizens have to voice opinions and select a government, the US tops out at 35th place---Drop from the rank of 22nd in 2005 because of a decreased trust in public officials and restrictions on the freedom of the press. "The US is not a model" Canada rates much higher as well as Denmark. Propaganda, would have you believe we are the "Shinning city on the hill" I wish---
Oh I agree
whole-heartedly with you! I don't think that the US is the shining beacon of freedom we started out being. We are now the broken version of Democracy that history proves will last only so long.
But in Idaho, more so than many states, we're afforded more freedoms. That's why I live here and not in... say, California.
...Vbron...
Socialist is just a word.
I hear a lot of this socialist crap these days. Doesn't mean squat, it's just more spin by control freaks.
This is still America, woun't be free long unless the people get off their butts & put politics in it's place. We could be a true democracy again. Most Americans don't know or care what is happening in politics. Couldn't name one person running for president next time around. Should have tarred & feathered Craig, that would have sent a message!
Democracy
Our country was not founded as a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. It's an important difference. We need to restore the principles of a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.
A democracy (which is how we've been running our country) is like two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner.
...Vbron, 2020...
Nice
"A democracy (which is how we've been running our country) is like two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner."
Nice one.
Its very true, the US was never intended to be a pure democracy, thats disinfo. It has democratic principles but the Founders made sure that minority factions would still have government protection, rather than letting the majorities steamroll over the little guys' rights.
Libertyfriend
But you and I both know that we've been getting steamrolled for years.
And not just the minority.
We've been allowing some of the vocal minority to steam-roll the rights of the majority. Little by little we are allowing our sovereignty and our rights to disappear. This debate is right on the money as an example:
We allow government to redistribute wealth through social programs. But from what source does government derive it's power? The people! And becuase it derives it's power from people, it can only excercise those same rights which people individually possess. I cannot redistibute anyone's wealth - that's called plunder. And becuase we do not have the right to do so, neither does the government!
...Vbron, 2020...
Socialist...
just the new Communist. Same number of folks get knocked around.
Cost of Living
If the cost of living is so bad why are people not moving out of the Treasure Valley?
Lots of people MOVE here and then complain about the low wages- well then this place must suck, please go back to where you came from!
The reality is, there is value in living in a nice area. You can't pay me enough to live in NYC, I don't care what the wages are.
IF the cost of living is $100 and the valeu of wages is $90 but the intrinsic value of living is more than $10- I'm happy. I'll sacrifice on something to bring my cost of living down to $90.
Should Idaho politicians do something about it? NO. Let supply and demand and capitalism work the magic.
Can't afford to move out
It must be cheaper to live on the state at the corrections facilities. With all the illegal immigrants doing jobs Americans won't do, {used to do for a living wage} manufacturing & selling meth, supplments income, or so they think.
There are a lot of reasons for living someplace & many poeple move to Idaho not realizing how the good old boy BS works or what a nice area with such poor air quaility Boise has to offer. Religion is another issue. I know, look into the community before you move. Unfortunalety religion is seldom something you can investigate because people are afraid to tell the truth about any religion or effect it has on a community or state.
No point in getting into that or I'll be struck down, not by God but by Osama or some other nut using religion to serve their own purpose. I'm Jesus, no I'm Jesus. With so many, we should feel saved, if you can afford the income percenatge required to belong?
Want to blame people for moving to Idaho or Boise? Look within, government, developers, supply & demand! Should politicians do something about it? The people you want to move away, moved here in large part because of the politicians you think should't do anything about it. They accept the campaign contributions & give the tax cuts to developer who make out like a bandit selling to the people you don't want around. You absorb the taxes developers/corporate unAmerica evade through campaign contributions & sacrifice to bring your cost of living down. Simple math, you pay politicians to sell you out then complain about the people who move in due to the actions of the same politicians.
The same government gave tax cuts to Micron, Micron handed out bonuses, people bought toys, got laid off, overextended, draw unemployment & government gave more handouts because the same politicians went to bat again for the people who evaded the taxes you aborbed. The supply & demand? Micron, tech jobs, & the largest employer in the state. Wrong! The taxppayers, you are the largest employer in the state. Unfortunately you employees are giving all your profits to those who can afford to buy your representation, the poiticians you suggest shouldn't do something about it! Those politicians are headed to China to promote slave labor again. Free vacation to sell $400 million of Idaho goods to China for lead paint tainted toys, poison dog food, & be careful when you brush your teeth. How many Americans lose their jobs to free trade? Some 8 year old kid making a dollar a day is doing the job some American use to do for a living wage. Bush is all about human rights, Bush wouldn't know a human right if he bombed it which is more likey than representing US & the reason terrorist hate US!
How much thought have you really given the cost of living in Idaho? By the way, Idaho isn't so much different than any other city or state. They all have government promoting growth, giving tax cuts at the expense of We the People who pay their wages. Illegal immigration promoted for years while taking jobs Americans won't do, even though they did those jobs twenty years ago when they paid a living wage.
Ever look at farming or dairy? Used to be family operations. Corporate or agri/corruption started buying your represetation in the 1970s & those politicians paid dairy farmers your tax $ to quit so these 30,000 dairies polluting air & water can have control & what does a gallon of milk cost? How much is that farm bill? When it was small family farms acually doing the work & paying Americans a fair wage the farm bill was nonexistant. Now the corporate farms buy your representation for pennies on the dollar. A million to the republicans, three quarter million to the democrats so their horse can't lose. Buying up land family farmers can't hang on to, with your tax dollar with subsidies.
Look at www.nextrevolution.net
Counters showing war costs, & the national debt show what those politicians are doing. The chart showing individuals paying 90% of taxes & corporate unAmerica paying 10% when it used to be a 50/50 split. They provide the jobs & you pay the taxes. Ever buy a used car? You got a lemon in this deal.
I read a lot about socialism & socialist lately. I'm not republcian or demcorat but it looks a lot to me like both parties play the same game & politicians along with campaign contibutors are making all the money while We the people are paying for everything. How can a corporation or the government expect the people to pay all the taxes on less wages
& then buy all the products these companies sell? More cheap labor!
It's America mismanaged by the people we pay who accept $ from outside interest while on our dime & making a profit doing it. Ever see what happens to a whistle blower when they report a crime by government? They are discredited & not one damn American they were fighting for has the balls to stand up & help fight for their own $ or well being!
Where ya been udapimp? You're making sacrifices alright, you just don't know what they are, who is taking advanatage of them, & how much you're really giving up! Capitalism is buying your representation, it's the best buy on the market!
Kids
It's kinda like I tell my kids, "Don't worry about what your brother is getting. Worry about you."
So greyghost, what is your solution (in 50 words or less)?
Its about community
The problem is not worrying about what the jones' across the street is getting, but more about feeling sympathetic about the daily reaming that we are all taking from corporate america and the politicians. Jesus said love one another which has absolutely nothing to do with 'on't worry about what your brother is getting. Worry about you.' when your neighbor can't afford to feed his family. It's not about being envious, it's about strengthening the bonds of our community by helping each other and not being indifferent to the suffing of others.
Amen
And when my neighbor can't afford to feed his family, I seldom think it's the cost of living outstipping the increase in his wages as the problem.
More often it's something of their own doing such as having a family too early, greed beyond means, bad family relationships, bad financial management, lack of education to pursue available good paying jobs, lack of a proper religoius community, lack of childhood development to get to achieve all the above, or a number of other causes.
Those who say minimum wage can not support a family, ignore the fact minimum wage is not meant for family breadwinners. If someone is trying to support a family on minimum wage or any wage near that, they have missed an important lesson in life.
As for the reaming from corporate America and the politicians, those people are our neighbors too. So HYPOTHETICALLY if Brent Coles says he can't feed his family cause it's tough to support a big mormon family on an entry level job, I ask who wants to suggest to the politians that something needs to be done for the former mayor? When Exxon makes billions, no body complains when their 401k portfolio holds Exxon. For all negatives there is an equal positive. I'm pretty sure God made that rule.
For those that have temporary hard times and bad luck, fortunately our society has safety nets in place (most of them work). For the chronic... that's a sad situation. But wages is not the problem. The low wages is most likely the symptom of an underlying problem for that individual.
The Editor asks should the politicians do anything about it,,, only if they have the answers for education, preventing drug use, pyschological problems, econonomic development, parental wisdom, agricultural macroeconomics, world trade, immigration, and life in general.
Well wrote
Pretty good post, minus all the Religious bullchit.
udapimp
You missed poor potty training .
But you are right -------- always blame the victim , it makes the rest of us , and you , feel superior .

You missed Econ 101. Here's a few simple principles:
1) If your neighbor has 3 kids and a wife to feed, then he must (figuratively) bake 5 loaves of bread to feed the entire family.
2) If your neighbor buys a XBOX 360 instead of baking bread, he has no bread to eat.
3) The XBOX 360 cannot be consumed as food or used as clothing.
As stated above, there are not many victims in the economy today. It's usually more about inpropriety than lack of opportunity. I, myself, complain way too much about being stuck in a rut. I can go out and get what I want whenever I want it. People are generally as wealthy (or will become as wealthy) as they are willing to be. It takes hard work. I'm poor right now, and to be honest, I don't know how I'll chase down the American dream. I have some plans, and I'm going to do all I can to accomplish them. It's not that anyone has a superiority complex, it's that too many people have an inferiority complex. I am guilty of it sometimes too.
...Vbron, 2020...
If you don't like to read, don't read, kinda.
Would we be in Iraq if we had learned from our mistakes in Vietnam? If $12 an hour was a living wage in 1970 why is $8 an hour a living wage in 2007. How many lobbyist are there in DC for every representative?
My god...
You are 5-10 years behind.
Get hip.
Total crap

And what does the cost of living have to with Micron cutting their excess employees or shifting their employee base to overseas.?
Was this a surprise to your friend? Hello!!!!He worked for frkn MICRON!!!! It's volatile!
I'm sure he wasn't crying when got hired, and I'm pretty sure they didn't guarantee him anything.
And remind your friend of all those FAT bonus checks Micron employees got years ago.

your response, it's a right to work for less place, they don't make good money or fat bonus checks, try again

That which you do to the least of my brothers, that you also do unto me...unless it's their own damn fault for being unable to feed or clothe or provide medical care for their children. Please tell us -----------------
...Vbron, 2020...------------ After 15 years at Micron , just what do you allow the man to buy ? House , maybe a car or just bread ?
I stand by my statement -------- you blame the man for being unemployed and thus feel superior .
Isn't looking down your nose at everyone make you cross-eyed ? Or is it something you just get use to ?

You must assume I'm all sorts of rich. I'm 24, I too work at Micron, I struggle to pay my bills every month... and the list goes on and on.
But I don't blame anyone for my problems and complications. Is life difficult sometimes? Yes. Do I wish my situation was different? Often! But I was raised to take personal responsibility for my own situation in life. My economic status is my own doing, so is my social status, religious and political status, etc.
By blaming the higher-ups, you're taking personal responsibility away from those to whom it belongs. When people own the responsibility, they are empowered to own success. But by allowing the goverment, or a job, or anyone else to own their problems, they're also give away any success to be had. Success isn't a chance happening - people win the lottery one day and go bankrupt the next. Success is a habit, a trait, a way of life.
I was raised to be successful. I fully intend to get my education by the sweat of my own brow, become marketable, and make wads of cash you can only dream of. I own my situation right now.
I'm tired of people meandering through life like the government or their employer owes them something. Satisfaction is not guaranteed in this life. We are guaranteed this right: the pursuit of happiness, not happiness itself. No one owes you or your neighbor a thing. If your neighbor wants to keep his house, he'll find a way. If your neighbor wants to be a millionaire, he'll find a way.
People generally get just exactly what they're chasing in this life. For my parents it was a happy family first, then financial security. They got both. I'm chasing after a happy family (sometime in the near future), a satisfying career, the ability to see the world with my future children to provide hands-on learning, and financial security. I get discouraged because it's hard. It's the most difficult thing I've ever done, but that's MY American Dream. That's what I fully expect to get out life. It's my pursuit of happiness:)

Tired of people meandering through life?
With that American dream, you better save a little time to meander or the girl of your dreams is going to get tired of NOT having any fun. Who's business is it if people want to meander through life & in the end have what ever they have. It's human nature, some like it hot, some like to sleep, some like to start wars, & those are the ones to worry about. They get you caught up in their BS.
If you're paying Social Security I'm sure you'll ctach on. It's a little like Fogerty sings it, Someday never comes. After you've paid a lifetime of taxes you'll realize government isn't giving you a free ride & when Micron or some other corporation gets all the tax cuts you absorb. Oh that's right, you got a bonus when Appleseed went begging for tax cuts, then laid off while the rest of us paid Micron's taxes. I bet you turned your bonus down since you don't think an employer owes you anything. Oh, you earned it. The people who paid over valued property taxes to cover your bonus didn't earn their money did they?
How many of the people who got bonuses are losing the toys they bought? Or are the extended benefits paying the bills. I've been laid off several times in my life, get a new job & carry on. Sorry but college isn't in the plan for everyone. I went to college, worked my way through & have what I have, meandered a little on the way. It isn't a perfect world. Last time I lost a job I didn't bother to file unemployment, started a business.
What's the point of telling some 24 year old who knows it all?
I don't doubt that you'll do well, keep focused. Better believe that just because you work hard & play by all the rules, you can't be taken out of the game. A drunk driver, E. Coli, or should Bush bombing Iran, maybe you'll see the draft come back. I know a lot of decent people who aren't around, died young & it wasn't their fault. Some olds friends lost their 18 year old daughter a year ago in a freak accident. She was going to go to college too.
That's life, some people live it their way, one day at a time like there's no tomorrow & some plan on living forever with a solid plan. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Times change & so do people. 50% get divorced, better keep your eye on the ball.
The pursuit of happiess? If the world holds up, maybe. With all the mercury in the water, even the streams/running water, you might want to move, but where? Ever heard of downwinders? Some of those good people had dreams & plans too. The same government that blows smoke rings about the pursuit of happiness blew some smoke rings their way. Nuclear smoke rings. Government doesn't owe them anything? Damn sure didn't give them anything!
I'm glad you have it figured out. Run for President would you. We need a man of vision, a worldly soul with all the answers. You've got me convinced.
That's wordy
I have ADD and your lengthy post is daunting. There were a lot of words, but you made few points.
To respond to each of your statements would be pointless becasue you seem to have your mind made up about a lot of things, and really no one can be sure just exactly what you were trying to say sometimes.
The basis of what I said rings true no matter what - people are generally as happy as they want to be. People generally get out of life exactly what they want.
As you pointed out, some people want to meander through life. That's fine as long as they pay their own way. Some people want more and are willing to do what it takes to get there. They deserve to rise to the top.
I see and hear about too many people that complain about their situation. Life is SO hard for them. No one will fix their problems for them. Tough luck. No guaranteed happiness, just the pursuit thereof.
And I will run for President. I will be a success. I realize that I might have to sacrifice one thing for another. But I have my priorities straight. I'm not too worried about how my life will turn out. Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's easier, but I choose to be and pursue happiness regardless of circumstances.

President?
When you start campaigning, someone you've already pissed off on these forums will probably publicize one of your inflammatory quotes from this forum and discredit you. You lack the people skills to make a successful ascension to politics.
Check your ego. Pride is dangerous if not moderated.
Enjoy your pursuit of wads of cash, but please just don't forget to stop and enjoy life along the way.

You just keep thinking real postive---Don't get sick or have a child with an illness that is a costly, lengthy condition. Something the goverment(tax payers) may have to help with--We'll just leave you out on the ice float, because you can "DO FOR YOURSELF". It's all about me and mine with your attitude----------

Hay O'l man ========== O'l whats her name had a good check up last time (still cancer free). I am trying to recover from cancer surgery , they think they got it all , so life is "good". (?)
You know who that clown is don't you ?
I like the old message board better than this mess , but the board cost money and this is free for the Statesman . But I miss the ability to link to other pages to either tell a joke or prove a point . Viper should love this mess -- it's all about opinions -- fact's don't enter into it .
