The bickering never stops!
Submitted by used2beU on Thu, 05/08/2008 - 11:59pm.
I have just spent the last two hours going over this message board, reading posts and finding out what has been going on since I left Idaho. I do need to add that I have been to these posts in the past ;-), since I still have children living in the state.
Where on earth do most of you find the time to work, what with all the bickering and name calling on these posts? Everyone hates the other, for either political or social concerns and you are allowing the government to tax you to death. Who's bright idea was it to put Otter into office? I sure chuckled over that one, when I read online about it! Can anyone say 'Stagecoach'??? And y'all are worried about Micron???
Idaho used to be a pretty cool place to live. I raised my children there. Made a living and enjoyed life. Then along came the right to work issue, and it got voted in by ignorant Idahoans. Along came the Californian's trying to change Idaho into California. Mormon's, yeah I know all about them. Good Ole Boys, yeah them too! But you are all in the same boat, and you need to learn to play nice.
Don't you think that your govt officials, right down to city council see how you are battling one another to their advantage? They keep getting richer and you keep getting poorer. That is what your State Government has been about for an incredibly long time! Doesn't matter which party runs it, it is all in the 'game'.
Do you know what I learned when I left Idaho? Life goes on, regardless. People will never agree on everything and it is all about choosing your battles. I will succeed and HAVE, after leaving the 'mindset' that most of you have choose to participate in. (And it is not just you on these boards, the entire state has this mindset).
Until you realize that there are a choice few that run you like little rats through a maze, regardless of how much money you brought from California, or whether your uncle is the Bishop or how long your grandaddy has owned land, will you ever achieve independence and freedom!

How precious
of you to spare the time to drop in and see us!
I'd like to clear up a few misperceptions you seem to have aquired during your time away from Idaho...
1.Nobody hates anyone here. Healthy, vibrant discussion is a good thing, and not something to be feared. Where'd you move to where people don't engage in passionate debate on public forums?
2. My government officials don't give a rat's patoot about any discussion on this board. And it's forums like these that open the eyes of people who may not have considered an opinion other than that spoon fed by the media.
3. Some of us are not Bishops or from California or farmland heirs.
The place you moved to sounds delightful! No disagreement on forums, no religious influences, no Californians and none of those pesky landed gentry. Where is it you moved to again?
I gather you lived in front of YOUR computer?
BWA HAHAHAHA HA AHA HAA
Tie the imperialist to the derrick, Mr. N'komo!
Get used to it
This is America, Land of the Free to Say Whatever You Want. It's your choice, whether or not you want the opinions of others to sway your beliefs and upset your feelings. A lot of people on here are pretty brash because they have a keyboard and several miles of wire separating them from one another. There are no consequences for calling someone stupid on here, like in actual conversation where you can get your lights punched out. It doesn't matter where you're from; we all have to have some outlet for our immature bickering.
Bickering???
Why, no? This is but a mere DISTRACTION from the plans we execute to enforce sadistic control over the destruction of all existance!
HA
Nobody will believe you because we are legion....ssssssssssssss
>;-ppp
Have a nice Armageddon and thanks for being pwned.
C'mon guys, I don't think you get it.....
I wasn't putting any of you down for bickering, I was just suggesting that you work together to find a solution to your problems in Idaho.
Take a look at your wages vs taxes if you are fortunate enough to be buying a home, and not in foreclosure yet. And if you are only renting, then why is that? Is it because you cannot afford to buy a home? And if you cannot afford to buy a home, then would it go back to your wages? Or look at the value vs the cost of homes. Is it realistic, or disproportanite?
How many companies continue to lay off every year? What about company closings? Or maybe they called it relocation.....
Do you realize that the idiot that brought 'right to work' to Idaho got run out on a rail shortly after? He is now creating chaos in Michigan.
Maybe taxing alcohol will work, maybe it won't. But it is a start, at least you are all talking about it. But you have to do something!
I really don't know the answer for Idaho. I do know that the 'powers that be' in both parties are laughing at you. Heck, they laughed at me before I left. They tried to use me in some political manueverings and I got smart enough to say no in the end.
I think the biggest point I would like to make is:
The political strategists and hacks are pitting you against each other. They read this board and may even post on here to stir up controversy. Does anyone remember Helen Chenowith? Her 'hack' was all over the place, message boards etc, stirring up trouble. That is cause he didn't have a real job!
Does anyone really know what the police found when they talked to Coles outside his Aides house? Can anyone say what he was wearing?
Also, ask Uncle Butchie about the Stagecoach?
You are being bled dry with your taxes that go nowhere. With all the new subdivisions and building, why aren't your schools and health care taken care of?
I do know that the illegal population is large, but not so large that your taxes shouldn't take care of most of your needs.
I will end this with the tale of a friend near Kuna. In 1998, her taxes on her home went from $300 a year to $3000 a year in one year 97/98. Another friend worked in Boise for SCP Global Technologies and owned a home in Nampa. His taxes did the same thing, for the second time in 2004. He also got laid off from SCP, they relocated to California. How do you pay thousands in taxes that go NOWHERE?
I am not putting any of you down. I am saying that I escaped just in time. I now have a nice home, great property taxes and finding lots more Idaho plates in my small area lately. Am I going to tell you where I live, probably not....
Good luck to you that choose to stay and battle. All of my kids have chosen to leave.
Used to be a good place to live.
Sorry used2be but you're in the same boat as US
no matter where you moved, in the US anyway. I moved here from a republican state & it's not much different here than there, crooked/republicommuinst. We have those pesty Mormons in Idaho verses Catholics where I came from. What's the deal with religion, have to have war, pedophiles, polygamy, or just a control freak mentality leading to all the above. I guess that's why religion has so much influence in politics.
I like the way politicians refer to themselves as conservative or liberal, first clue in solving the crime. Read all that best places to live stuff, lies. Didn't matter, used to vacation here & liked Idaho for the outdoor recreation so here we are. There again government is failing, tax the air we breathe if they could find a way to meter it. Maybe a meter in the old, better leave it alone. They'll implant one at birth, complete with a chip, take DNA, put you to work, protest or get busted & it's off to prison you go.
If you're telling us you don't face higher property taxes, taxes for prisons, schools, roads, every day crooked as a dog's hind leg politicians caught up in scandals, sexual, campaign finance, or what ever, I guess you moved out of country. Carefull how you respond, that's how Idaho got all us outsiders & America got all those illegal immigrants, loose lips sink ships. Idaho is like family, easier to rip off the relatives than take a chance on strangers. I think it's part of the plan, lure them in with tax cuts & all the outdoor recreation, shove the hot poker home. Put the kids on the internet & lure the Arkansas boys to town for some hillbilly love. It obviously works because more people are moving in then out.
I like bickering, gives me a sense of accomplishment. When I read something about one of our illustrious representatives of millionaire status, it gives me purpose. I was once told I could start a fight in church. You know you're an accomplished rabble rouser if you get that kind of endoresment.
You really aren't any different than the rest of us, bickering seems to be what you're into. At least you're not on the blog with all the credentials, showing off the degree & promoting fairy tales. Well, maybe just the one about the land of milk & honey, your forgiven if you belive it, just like the rest. With that attitude you could be a republican, or is it a democrat? One or the other, can't believe what they're telling me either.
If you get the Idaho Statesman or read enough of this blog you'll see I kick Otter from time to time. There was a big fat front page story about the wanna be, old worn out Texas ranger, Gus & his sidekick Woodrow, not to long ago. Now that was entertaining. People out here suck that stuff up while paying the taxes. Captive audience I guess. Almost afraid to ask about the stagecoach.
Funny thing about Idaho is the scandal that comes up every six months or so. Doesn't matter which state or which party I guess, you can pretty much set clock & calendar by it. It isn't just Idaho but for some reason people think I'm exagerating when I say politicans are crooked as a dog's hind leg. Everywhere I've ever lived we had crooked politicians & you couldn't get them to investigate crime involving banks, politicans, judges, lawyers, agri corruption, or any big business unless it was so obvious a crime they had to. I could tell you stories about the banking scandals in the eighties, covered up all the way to DC, but it wouldn't matter. Everybody was so sick of hearing about that, nothing done, & since we have a whole new banking fiasco, why go back to the old days when we can watch fresh failure all over again?
Have you read where an Idaho auditor with the Tax Commission, blew the old whistle? Seems the tax commission is handing get out of jail free cards & reduced taxes if you're an out of state corproation & have certified accountants heavy into tax knowledge. "Can't bully them" would be the words of Otter appointee Chigbrow or whatever his name is. That ought to make you feel good.
When we moved here it didn't take but a year maybe a year & a half & we got a letter from the tax commission, claimed we owed $2,400. We moved here end of May & we get a letter claiming we owed money from a 401 we cashed out of in Nebraska. Not a dime of the money was earned while we were in Idaho, cashed out before we came to Idaho, & we paid taxes & penalties according to an accountant we hired. I suppose everybody who moves to Idaho gets the old welcome mat that way. Maybe an investigation by Dan Popkey or whatever his name is would be a thought. Didn't have to pay because we had an accountant who must have been heavy into that tax knowledge. Those tax guys, Idaho Tax Commission, wrote me letters, called, & harrassed me for months. I wonder how many people get taken in that scam.
Sure makes a guy wonder how many people Otter's finger puppet plays the bully card on. I'll be writting the Statesman to see if Dan is interested in digging up a little truth in a story conserning the bully tactics by people Otter has appointed to the tax commission. Maybe that'll be the next scandal, Idaho tax commission bullying people who move to Idaho with little knowledge of tax laws & no accountant. Millions of $ stolen from honest citzens, duped by the tax commission. No wonder Idaho government promotes growth, get em to move in & take em for all their worth. Pay em poor wages & they can never afford to leave, slave labor!
Truth is I think you miss it here, wouldn't be on the blog if you didn't. Come on, fess up. You miss the hot poker & Larry Craig stories. You don't live in Minneapolis, do you? See, I really can stir it up. Relax, I'm just kicking you a bit to see what you're made of. Go ahead, fire back. Bicker a bit, feels goooooooood.
Greyghost, Thanks for the
Greyghost,
Thanks for the comments. And yes, on occasion I do like to bicker a bit, just don't tell anyone. ;-)
I really don't miss Idaho, but thought I did for the first few years. You are right about the 'get em in and take em', but you haven't left there yet. Once Idaho has your number and know where you moved to, they decide that you really need to come back and be taxed some more. Hence they will stalk you and accuse you of not paying one tax or the other before leaving their wonderful state. And if that doesn't work, they will attempt to summons you for jury duty at their Federal Courts. Kid you not.....
What is so funny is that I believed the mantra while I was there, 'there is no place like home' and that Idaho was home. It wasn't until I had been gone for a couple of years and let them know that I wasn't paying anymore taxes to them since I didn't live there, with the aid of an attorney, that I realized I was finally free of their controlling ways.
I have a lot of friends that still live in Idaho, and that is why I come to this forum board. Why I pay attention to the headlines. I see many more Idaho plates coming to my area. But they aren't transitioning well. Guess they need that minimum 2 years away from Idaho to understand the way we are here. I don't want to be mean. I welcome newcomers to our area. But just like the people of Idaho told Californians to leave their ideas at the border, I am saying the same thing. Maybe that is another reason I am here. If you are leaving Idaho for another state that is not CA, OR, or WA, please leave your Idaho beliefs at the border and come to your new state with the idea that things will be better and you won't be taxed like you were. Also, we are not stupid! Your ideas in Idaho will not work here, so don't even try! Why did you leave Idaho in the first place? Embrace our way of life before you decide to condone it. You chose to move here!
I do get what you are saying greyghost. No place is perfect. Yes, we do have politics here, lots of republicrats. And religious influence if you take the time to listen to the idiots. But where I live, and NO, I won't tell you where that is, we have chosen to live and work and not get caught up in the political or religious BS that rules so many peoples lives. And yes, I do live inside the continental US. I just don't live in a city. My taxes are fair! I don't mind paying them year to year, since I know they are going where they should. I breathe fresh air, have a good water table, enjoy better weather than Idaho, and love the wildlife in my area. I should add that I own my home outright and am semi retired. But I worked hard to get where I am at.
Would you really like to know about the Stagecoach? And Uncle Butchie?
Everyone knows that Uncle Butchie likes his liquor don't they? Or about ole Hap's place down in Garden City, right.
Only time that I know of, that a sexual offender got the grand ole office of Govna, is in the state of Idaho....heeeeheeee But then Idaho is a special place, isn't it?
Does anyone have the nerve to ask Uncle Butchie about how he terrorized the girl after attacking her at the Stagecoach? Oh wait, it was his attorney's that did that.....
Guess when you have enough political contacts in Idaho you can get away with just about anything......... ;-)
If anyone decides to nominate him President, then I will step in. Till then, wish you all well with all of your 'issues'. And I am really happy to say, I
USED2BEU
I reckon, given the election results and dismal turnout...
Nobody gives s crap and you'd need an angel of God to make them turn a blind eye.
You don't tell Idahoans how to run anything, honestly.
That is likely why you used to be them.
Who are you?
You are definitely opinionated aren't you foreignoregon. One of those people that don't have a job and just respond online as a way to pass the day type of persons..... I was looking for a response from some others in Idaho, you know, working class that are bothered by property taxes and such.
foreignoregon type responders are most of the problem, they rent and never own. They get welfare benefits cause they refuse to work. And they whine best of all! Everything is wrong, nothing is right. And they respond on message boards!!!!
Looking for someone else to respond to this message. Property owners, responsible people...... How are you affording your property taxes? What are you doing to change the laws?
The welfare crap is sooooo "racist" or whatever JINGO BELLS
I don't sit on my non-existant big az$ watching DAYS nor do I point out you are sixty and near your own "welfare". Why speed the plow if your ox is dead?
PS All my fat ex-girlfriends verified I have no az$ whatsoever or that it's gone north to hide.
I have my parents, my cousin is a major farmer in Canyon county?
And you are one of those conspiracy types that doesn't like it unless they hear exactly what they want.
Okay...my parents haven't rented a house in well over 15 years...reckon property taxes are something they deal with...in NAMPA
My cousin ran for a position on the Canyon County commission a scant few years ago and I KNOW property taxes were on HIS mind then and still are as he works to bring in a crop and deliver to Heinz Frozen Foods/Ore-Ida.
If you weren't such a flake about it maybe you'd get a dialogue going.
FYI I have at least 4 generations of farmers in my heritage back to the 1890's and my parents have owned most of their marriage of 42 years, from the first place on Hudson St around 1971 on. The split levels at the 300 block end of our old block (200 block departing from Central Canyon) were built at some time close to 1973 and the girl that lived in the middle one had a 45 of Billy Don't Be A Hero along with several others we played on her portable phonograph. My third grade teacher had us write letters to Betty Ford and Candice Bergen at Lincoln Elementary and by the time I went to sixth grade at Central Elementary we had moved to Elder St (1977).
WHY then would I not know how my parents are faring? I HAD TO NUDGE THEM TO PARE DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE...
PS They aren't online and don't care.
For Pete's Sake, Used2beU,
You start a thread about bickering, and then you engage in some of the nastiest feces-slinging I've ever read on this board. Knock it off.
You haven't told us the location of your Shangri-La. Do tell, I'd like to know what they're doing differently there.
What a retarded moron.
