Good job, Dems...
Submitted by Kharmatos on Mon, 06/30/2008 - 12:01am.
Think your dems are so precious and are about change? PALEASE. They're the exact same as Repubs, for sale.
The reason the FISA bill was passed is because on average, the telecom co's gave each person who voted yes 8K, pelosi got 24.5k.
http://www.maplight.org/FISA_June08
Why she we re-elect them? or why should we switch and drop some repubs for dems? It's the same game played by both sides.
There isn't any info on how much the Repubs got, but I'd imagine it would be the same.
And, isn't the maximum amount someone can donate only 2300?
Write-In Mosher, he'll overturn this Bill when he is elected and give us back our liberties and freedoms. If you don't, then enjoy becoming losing all of them.
David L. Mosher for Congress D.1.

David, that's retarded...
we could let Robert Mugabe run it all for your reasoning.
That a------- wouldn't quit at least.
Sounds like a typical Dem response.
Blah, blah, blah retarded, blah blah blah, insane, blah blah blah, stupid. Bring something to the table or don't come to the table at all. Care to explain how this is 'retarded'?
What I find funny is how you're trying to justify your party flip-flopping on the constitution, yet had Repub's done it, it would be the end of the world. THAT'S RETARDED.
Stop being a hypocrit, or at least try.
And quit assuming I'm Mosher. Just goes to show how slow you are. Oooh, I went Dem tactic on that one.
Deaf dumb and blind boy...
Sure plays a mean pinball!
You reduce me to typical. Gawd, did someone slip something in your 2% for breakfast?
We're sorry to see you go but we do have a parting gift as well as the BRAND-NEW version of the Home Game!
Cogito Ergo Sum
How did you not just prove my point?
Insult, insult, insult, to get away from the actual issue because you can't explain why your precious party sold you out.
Make an actual comment, that is an actual response, not some two-bit insult job. You're not even good at doing that, let it go.
Good job.
Where's your Proof?
David,
You expect us to take your post at face value that everyone who voted "yes" for the FISA bill somehow got paid off for their vote? Then you give a link to a organization that tracks contributions to politicans in California and congress, and spin that into some kind of a conspiracy theory to show a form of corruption.
If you want to form conspiracy theories, you need to take lessons from the pros that do that kind of vaccum headed non-sense, BS, and stupidity on a regular basis like move-on.clowns, media matters, code pink, the DNC, Barrack Obama, or the democratic underground just to name a few.
It would really be nice if people who run for public office remember that they are public servents and therefore accountable to the people that elected them to the office they hold, not the party their members of. More can be said but that's enough for now.
Your conspiracy theory isn't a good one, doesn't hold water, and doesn't make sense.
Later days,
Viper
How does it not make sense?
and my name isn't David.
the link showed how much each person in the dem congress was paid, by the TELECOM's, to flip they're support for the vote on FISA, thus benefitting the telecom's.
naturally, i can understand why you guys would get defensive, it makes you look bad, or, well, like republicans.
all i'm saying here is that you shouldn't bash one side when your side is doing the same thing they are. Makes you look like a hypocrite.
as for the 'typical dem response' both of you just did, 'stupid this, bs, non-sense,' slam the other sides supporters, claim this or that is a conspiracy theory or whatever. you guys shouldn't be that delusional. actually look at what you typed, it's pretty sad how you actually rationalize your party selling all of us out, they're all politicians, that's it. Party means nothing, they play the same game and use the same tactics. Get over it. throw this party stuff in the trash and actually vote for the best person for the job, you say you do, but you know you don't. just like repub's don't. until then, quit your complaning.
Flagging is easier.
Have a good fourth.
Actually.
Had a great fourth, thanks. Hope you did too. Spent some time debating with some people about the races, as it tends to go when you're reflecting on America's History.
Ran into a lot of the same stuff that I deal with on here, a lot of partisanship. But in the end it worked out well. One guy I talked to was all like 'blah he's not a democrat' and I'm like, so what, the party politics is old school, it doesn't work now. Okay, think of it like this. Sure he could end up being a wash like you say he could, but what if he isn't? What if he happens to be one of the best leaders Idaho has seen? You would have missed out on that because of party politics. Let's say it doesn't work out and he doesn't do anything, will he be any worse than what we have now? With Sali? No. So if you go with the same guy we already have you know what we're going to get, he'll continue doing what he is doing assuming that you say it's okay because you re-elected the guy. But what if he does do what he says he's going to do? What if he does half of what he says he's going to do? That would be huge. If you actually look at what he wants to do you'll see that most of it is very basic, it's not hard to do, it's taking what we already have and fixing it. He doesn't have to create all new programs and deal with handing out contracts and so on. Take the Seperation of Church and State for instance, he would like to Amend the First Amendment and make that a part of our constitution. A small thing, easy to do, but it would be something that would effect the shaping of this country for the future. He would take FISA and The Patriot Act and check them against the constitution and eliminate the parts of these things that violate it. Again, not a hard thing to do, but it would be huge in giving us back our civil liberties. Mosher would be a working while the rest of these people are off at strip joins or golfing or doing fundraisers. Who do you think is going to make a bigger difference? Someone who just does the job and votes or someone who is literally going to do the work and change things? Bring America back to it's foundation, i.e. the constitution? Hmm? You think Sali is going to do that? He hasn't, if anything he's helped get us away from that. Minnick will just do the job and vote Dem everytime, just like Sali does Rep. Who do you think is actually going to make a difference?
Now realize the people I was talking to weren't teenagers, these are diehard voters here, they come from a long line of politicians, one of the guys grandpa's was some sort of politician in Canada and the other Grandpa was one of our own Representatives. he helped get Larry Craig elected. Dan Mader a former 10-year Rep of ours is a family friend of Mosher's, his mom and her two brothers (his uncles) grew up together. Cindy, Dan's wife was David's sunday school teacher. He has even tried to get Mader to come back and take care of Idaho, but found that the reason Mader quit was because of the gross corruption in Boise. He got sick of it and said no more. Mosher wants to change that.
So you carry on being a troll on message boards, that's fine, throw away your vote and pretend that what the little blurbs that you spout are actually funny. I'll continue supporting mosher because I want something different. I'm tired of being tired with this state and this country and mosher can do something about it. So he has my write-in vote. The media can continue to block him, that's fine. We're winning people over one person at a time. or in this case, 3 people at a time, 2 dems and a repub. Good luck to you and yours.
Melissa.

I'm sorry; your post ended with the name David as if it was a ending signature like you would in any type of correspondence.
By the way, you might consider forming paragraphs if your going to make a long post, like you did above, so it's easier to read your points. Otherwise, it looks like a jumbled mess of letters that start to run together when you attempt to read them, and I, for one, do want to read what your writing, so I can respond in the appropiate context of your point.
You must believe that we are not a nation at war to take the position you have concerning the FISA act. This is part of the Patriot Act, as I understand it, and it's provided valuable intelligence in fighting the terrorists that are trying to kill us. I think it's unbelieveable that these companies need to have legal protection for helping the government fight an enemy that's sworn to kill us.
Based on what you've posted, do you want the terrorists to win the war on terror and murder every American, or do you want American to win the war on terror so we can continue to live as a free nation? There is no gray area here, and if you think there is, your wrong and you don't understand the nature of the enemy we face and their determination to kill us.
Because of the nature of the way telecommunications technology has changed, we have to be able to use every tool possible to fight these animals. The patriot act and the FISA act provide the tools to prevent another attack on our country. There is no room for political correctness, or taking the so called "moral high road". As far as talking to the enemy, that opportunity ended on 9/11. The terrorists made the decision for us to go to war and sealed it in the blood of 3000 dead Americans. As far as I'm concerned the war will be over when every terrorist is dead or in prison and the governments that support these animals have been removed and eliminated.
Your position that the telecom companies paid off politians for a favorable vote to protect themselves from the anti-war idiots is basic spectulation on your part and this one website is not proof of facts because is also lists many other donations from other companies that are not telecom companies.
Is it your position that the website your using, list all donations to politians as bribes and pay-off's, and why doesn't it list private individuals like George Soros, or Mark Rich when they donate to these politicans or did I miss that?
Later days,
Viper
Okay.
So are you saying that you find it to merely be a 'convienience' that the people who did a total 180 on something they had been against, just out of nowhere flipped their position because they saw the error of their ways?
Or a convienience that these 'leaders' took contributions from the exact companies that are potentially facing millions if not billions of dollars in lawsuits?
That's too much of a stretch for me. I'm sure you can find exact donors somewhere on the net, probably a good google search.
Now, if I'M not mistaken FISA was created back in the 70's with our very own super senator Frank Church, so the Patriot Act having been passed in the middle of the night without anyone being allowed to read it or debate the act at all was created during the Bush Admin. So what I'm saying here is that we need to go back through FISA and The Patriot Act and take out what is unconstitutional. The Patriot Act was created to manipulate the People's vulnerabilities during a time when America was hurting and scared. FISA was manipulated for the same reason. Now that we have had time to recover we need to go back through these things and clean them up.
As for the war on terror, it's the same thing as the war on drugs. We can't win it with bullets and bombs it just breeds more terrorists. Back in the 80's when we had Afghanista fight the Russian's by Proxy all we had to do after was build them some schools and maybe some hospitals after having spent a billion dollars arming them and 9/11 wouldn't have happened. But we didn't, Rep Charlie Wilson , after this was over, went back to ask for a million dollars for this and was blown off. We could have avoided this whole thing had we done the basic peacekeeping. One of those guys in Afghanistan that was blown off was Osama.
On top of that, it's also not up to us, Militarily anymore, it is up to the Iraqi's to stop killing each other and compromise so they can start basic nation building. The choice is not ours in Iraq, it's theirs. We're just putting our troops in the way.
This whole thing is over when our leaders stop screwing around and actually do their job. The opposition side knows this and they're milking it for all it's worth.
I do have to say I appreciate that you're opening up a discussion on things I'm posting instead of blasting this or that or name calling without actually making a point like the rest of the people on here. So thanks for that and I look forward to having more discussions with you. Maybe you'll jump on the Mosher bandwagon and help promote him.
You danced around my question to you, Kharmatos.
Before I get to my point, thank you for acknowledging that we're attampting to have a reasonable discussion. I try to have a reasonable point of view on issues and not spin the facts with politial idealogy, political correctness, and other such non-sense. Right or wrong, wheather you and I like it or not, facts are facts, and they need to be told stright, not distorted.
Thank you for the invitation to support David Mosher and I wish him well in the upcoming election. However, because of the conduct of the democratic party over several years, I cannot support democrats because of their support for liberal idealogy which has been proven by history to be a philosophy of failure, and I for one refuse to support people who want my country to fail. There's much to be said on this point, but that's not what our current discussion is about.
You danced around my question to you about weather or not you support the terrorists winning the war on terror or America winning the war on terror. It's a simple question that can be simply answered with a "yes" or a "no". Most liberals and democrats fail to have the courage to answer a direct question with a direct answer, do you?
You attempted to compare the war on terror to the war on drugs which is not a reasonable comparision. Drug use is a cultural and moral problem that's fought on a personal and domestic battlefront with Law Enforcement caught in the middle as well as on the front line. I know this for a fact because back in the 60's, I use to be involved in a halfway house called the "Stone House" that helped people get off drugs, and was supported by the churches and the communities of the Teasure Valley. The war on terror was started with a direct assault on our country by terrorists flying our planes that they hi-jacked, loaded with our citizens into our buildings and murdering over 3000 people before the end of the day. These animals deserve no mercy and I for one do not intend to give them any.
I understand your point concerning the congressmen and senators who voted for FISA and I don't care. As long as they gave the agencies that are fighting the war on terror the tools to fight it with and protect this country. All that matters is we win and the terrorists lose, and I don't care how we achieve it or by what means.
This is enough for now. Take care.
