Transportation to get to medical appointments

There is much discussion about having medical insurance. I have a new twist on this. If I am not allowed to ride the ACCESS BUS I will be denied medical treatment because I cannot afford cab fare. I just got notification that I can only ride the ACCESS BUS under certain conditions. I suffer from multiple sclerosis. The bus company thinks I should be able to use the regular city buses most of the time. They don't take into consideration the problems MS patients have such as not being out in 90-100 degree weather. I use a walker and the bus company thinks I should be able to ride down town and walk in busy traffic two blocks to transfer buses. They don't take into consideration the difficulity I would have holding an umbrella and have both hands on my walker at the same time when it is raining. They do say I can use the ACCESS BUS in snow and icy weather conditions.

At any rate I have applied for legal help from Idaho Legal Aid. I will have Idaho Legal Aid help me file an appeal to the ADA Board. I go through this every three years. It seems the older I get and the worse my MS symptoms
are the more restrictions they put on me.

There is also one thing I don't understand. When I apply for my appeals to the ADA Board it is the bus company that handles the appeal. The bus company is the one who I have the dispute with. I don't think this is fair.

Do you know who your disabilities advocates are?

Do you have something like a CIL in Ada County?

Off the top I don't but at the least you could visit www.eocil.org and link to other agencies in the area. Eastern Oregon Council for Independent Living serves the needs of all disabilities and HIV/AIDS, fighting for the advocacy and service disabled persons need and the social needs all humans deserve. There are other options besides hopping a cab and more oriented to your medical needs. Another place to ask might be your United Way.

Please do not give up or be dismayed. There is a way if you have to ask the Moon.

Medical Treatment for Illegal Aliens

I heard on TV that the Democrats want to provide free medical treatment for illegal aliens. I don't know the cost factor but it would be okay with me if the Democrats proposing this plan would be held responisible for all medical bills incurred by the illegal aliens.

then you approve of genocide also, as long as it's not you?

You are ahooting yourself in the foot asking for help and turning it into a political diatribe.

SORRY-POSTED WRONG AREA

foreignoregonian, my guess you may be in the category I referred to. I should have posted my post in the political section of forums. The US can't afford to treat anyone and everyone who enters the US coming in through the back door so to speak.

Don't fret...

You asked me a question in my joke thread and made it legit and I gave you about 45 minutes of MEANINGFUL windbaggery trying to give the best on-topic post I could.

Hope it helps.
