Win "Gone with the Wind" tickets
Submitted by David Parker on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 12:00pm."Frankly, my dear ... I don't give a damn."
In 2005, this classic phrase was voted the number one movie line of all time by the American Film Institute 2005. The line, of course, comes from "Gone with the Wind."
To win a pair of tickets to the May 14 showing of "Gone with the Wind" at the Flahback Film Festival, e-mail cdryden@idahostatesman.com with your phone number and the answer to the following question:
"Sex and the City" movie is going to be big
Submitted by David Parker on Fri, 05/09/2008 - 8:37am.The May 30 release of the "Sex and the City" movie is, for some, one of the biggest movie releases of the year. Thousands of women (and you can admit it, guys, some men) are eagerly anticipating the release of the film version of the perennial Golden Globe and Emmy winner.
And marketing execs for the film are only fanning the flames by keeping the plot top secret. We do know that notoriously single gal Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) ties the knot in the movie. There's even a naughty rumor that one of the characters dies in the movie.
Blockbuster films deserve Oscar consideration
Submitted by David Parker on Mon, 05/05/2008 - 11:55am.Entertainment Weekly's PopWatch blog has a good idea for the folks that select the Academy Awards: pay attention to blockbusters when selecting the Oscars.

See "Harold and Kumar" with a full bar
Submitted by David Parker on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 8:42am.The second "Harold and Kumar" movie, out in Valley theaters today, is likely to have the same sort of cult following as the first. Who doesn't want to see a movie about two stoners trying to get their late night munchie fix?
That was "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle." Now we have "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," which, in spite of its cinematic merits, will probably fare better than many of the recent movies about the current political situation.
If you're planning on seeing it, forget the multiplex and head down to the Egyptian Theatre. Tonight and tomorrow Lush is trucking over a full bar for the 6, 8 and 10 p.m. screenings of the film.
Actors, directors should pay for their mistakes
Submitted by David Parker on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 11:19am.Now here's an idea: studios making actors and directors pay for being involved with big-budget movies that could flop and lose them piles of cash.
Sound ridiculous? That's the agreement Paramount Pictures has with "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" executive producer George Lucas, director Steven Spielberg and actor Harrison Ford.
Win tickets to see "The Big Lebowski"

Personally, I wouldn't pass up the chance to see "Lebowski" on the big screen, and I don't think you should either. So here's your chance to catch it at the Flashback Film Festival on Wednesday.
Approaching Apatow overload
Submitted by David Parker on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 9:10am.When "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" opens in theaters today, moviegoers will be smacked upside the head with the fifth Judd Apatow project in the past two years.
Will this be the moment audiences finally hit the saturation point for the "40-Year-Old Virgin"/"Knocked Up"/"Superbad" producer?
