The Boise State football team finished at No. 8 in The Associated Press Top 25 and No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll — the highest final rankings the Broncos have received with a loss. This marks the third straight season in which the Broncos have finished in the Top 10.
The difference between the polls was that USC (ineligible for the Coaches’ Poll) was No. 6 and Stanford was No. 7 in AP. The top five were the same in both: Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Arkansas.

The Boise State football team has added a linebacker to its 2012 recruiting class — a last-minute addition who was supposed to play for Hawaii.
Tyler Gray (6-foot-3, 225 pounds), who signed with Hawaii in February but grayshirted during the fall semester, was scheduled to fly to Hawaii on Friday, his speed coach, John Spells, said. Boise State contacted Gray on Wednesday and — in part because Hawaii changed coaching staffs — Gray took the Broncos’ scholarship offer.

Boise State added to its collection of kickers Wednesday with a commitment from Sean Wale of La Habra (Calif.) High.
Wale (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) was recruited primarily as a punter but he has more experience as a kicker. He started for three seasons as the kicker and one season as the punter at La Habra.
Coach Chris Petersen and special teams coach Jeff Choate visited Wale on Wednesday.
“The way they were talking to me today it seemed like they wanted me to try the kicking job, too,” he said.
