The Mountain West said it had "in-depth discussions" with Boise State about keeping the Broncos in the league in the future, but that the school late last week opted to "continue with its plan to move to various other conferences."
The league also confirmed that Boise State "has not yet officially withdrawn from the Mountain West."

The Big West Conference has agreed to "entertain" the possibility of Boise State joining the league for most non-football sports in 2013-14, Commissioner Dennis Farrell told the Idaho Statesman on Tuesday.

College of Idaho will restart football program

The College of Idaho is bringing football back to its Caldwell campus. The small liberal arts college disbanded its program in 1977, but its Board of Trustees voted to restart the program, the school announced the decision Monday.
The Coyotes are expected to start play in 2014.

Boise State hires new assistant director of player personnel

Boise State announced the hiring of Marshall Malchow as assistant director of player personnel Friday. Malchow, who attended Alabama, worked for the Crimson Tide as a recruiting specialist as an undergraduate. At Boise State, he will assist in recruiting functions.

Boise State, unlike the other schools slated to join the Big East in 2013, has not formally withdrawn from its current conference, CBSSports.com's Brett McMurphy reported Thursday evening.
