BOYS BASKETBALL

Trevor Thomas, Cole Valley Christian: The defending state champions continued their unbeaten run through the 2A Western Idaho Conference with two wins last week. In a 65-24 rout of Melba, Thomas had 29 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists in 18 minutes on the court. The senior guard then added 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in a 70-47 victory against Marsing.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Holly Blades, Meridian: The Warriors wrapped up the 5A Southern Idaho Conference regular season with two games last week. Blades posted double-doubles in both games. In a 60-48 win against Borah, Blades contributed 19 points and 14 rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals. The senior guard/forward had the highest scoring outing by a 5A SIC player this season with 37 points, 10 rebounds, six blocks, four steals and four assists in a 74-73 overtime loss to Capital.

WRESTLING

Mikel Perales, Nampa: Perales was named the most outstanding lightweight wrestler at the Red Halverson Invitational last week at Minico High. Perales won the 120-pound title at the tournament, pinning each of his opponents in the first period.
