Idaho Reports: Gov. Otter gets philosophical on the Constitution this week

Gov. Butch Otter on Idaho ReportsSometimes when we're working on our weekly show, it all comes down to the final few hours and we pack in a ton of interviews on Friday afternoon.

This is not one of those weeks...

I sat down with Gov. Butch Otter on Wednesday for a great half-hour discussion - I asked him to talk about his own philosophies on 1st and 2nd amendment rights (both are hot topics at the Statehouse this week), what he thought about the idea some have that the state should try to gain control of federal lands, the personal property tax and more.

Today, I continued our series of one-on-one interviews with the 30 new House freshmen. You'll get to meet Coeur d'Alene Republican Rep. Luke Malek this week - an attorney, avid hunter and fisherman and a past and future column-writer for the Coeur d'Alene Press (he went on hiatus during his election).

Plus, reporter Aaron Kunz explores the possible implications of the ideas generated by Gov. Otter's commission on nuclear issues and we tease to next week's Outdoor Idaho on "Rec Tech" - the thriving and innovative outdoor gear and equipment industry in Idaho. That's my first Outdoor Idaho, and I'm pretty excited about seeing it on my TV!
