Revolution Center in Garden City sizzles with activity

Teeth chattering? Frostbite setting in?

Step inside Garden City's Revolution Center. Things are heating up at the 2,200-capacity venue, which opened last August.

— Trade publication Pollstar just published an extensive feature story on the RevCenter and owner Creston Thornton.

— Friday night's concert by rapper Tyga is going to be big. Early-bird and VIP tickets are sold out. As of this writing, you still can get $50 general admission tickets.

— The March 8 EDM concert from Tiesto, which went on sale Friday, is on pace to sell out in advance. If you're planning to attend, you'd be wise to buy tickets now. You'd also be wise to start your cardio training. Organizers say this show could be up to six hours long.

— An April 14 concert by Welsh metal band Bullet for My Valentine goes on sale Friday. That group jam-packed the 999-capacity Knitting Factory last time it played Boise.

— Seen the new sign on the exterior of the RevCenter? It's finally up. (I think they were waiting until after Bassnectar played, so the sign wouldn't get rattled off the building.)

Because all you can do at the Amphitheater...

is try to make a snowman from the leftovers.

People are broad-minded. They'll accept the fact that a person can be an alcoholic, a dope fiend, a wife beater and even a newspaperman, but if a man doesn't drive, there's something wrong with him.
