Local musician Brad Nelson on sitar

Here's a new video from Ontario, Ore.-based Brad Nelson, a longtime fixture of the Treasure Valley's music scene. (Remember Eazy Loader? And Nada Brahma?)

"Playing the sitar well can be incredibly difficult," he told the Statesman a few years ago, "but should sound almost effortless. I often feel a powerful 'lifting of the spirit' while playing. This is not unlike the boundless joy a bird must feel during flight."

I loved hearing him play in Nada Brahma. Plus he'd play sitar versions of popular songs. But he looks different -- did he cut his hair? Shave a beard?

Looks like YES-literally and like the band.

People are broad-minded. They'll accept the fact that a person can be an alcoholic, a dope fiend, a wife beater and even a newspaperman, but if a man doesn't drive, there's something wrong with him.
