Idaho Reports: A closer look at Gov. Butch Otter's call for more volunteer fire protection districts

In his State of the State speech today, Gov. Butch Otter asked the Legislature to approve $400,000 to help local landowners fight range and forest fires themselves. The idea is based on a fire protection district formed by Mountain Home-area ranchers last fall. All this is is another taxing district; another way to collect taxes on private real property. Until the exemptions are eliminated from churches, etc. We do not need more taxing entities.

LOL, they aren't going to burn. Talk about going over board. You pay for fire protection now. Fire protection district will be nothing more than another admistrative taxing entity. Do some research on taxing districts.
