Enough snow has arrived at Bogus Basin for a 2012-13 season opening day on Friday, Dec. 21.
Recent storms will allow for a limited opening with Deer Point (No.1), Morning Star (No. 2), Showcase (No. 4), Pine Creek (No. 6), Coach (No. 7) lifts and both moving carpets running.
"It is early season conditions and some trails are inaccessible due to the high winds we had over the last couple of days," said Alan Moore, general manager. "We are excited to open up for our 70th year and our volunteer board and association welcome everyone up for another great year of affordable recreation and education on the community’s mountain."
Operating hours will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Day tickets will be discounted to $30 until more of the mountain opens. The Nordic center will be open.
Bogus will open nights, additional terrain and the Pepsi GoldRush Tubing hill as soon as conditions allow.
All services will be available including lessons with the Ski & Snowboard School, rental equipment at Black Diamond Sports, and food/beverage services at the JR Simplot Lodge and Pioneer Lodge. The sales office on Bogus Basin road is open for those individuals that need to pick up their lease equipment and/or season pass.
