Isaiah Wright, Borah: The Lions improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference with a pair of wins last week. In a 59-38 victory against Mountain View, Wright had 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals with just one turnover. The junior point guard then added 25 points — shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 10-for-13 from the free-throw line — seven steals, five rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and one turnover in a 64-36 rout of Vallivue.


Kylee Garrick, New Plymouth: The junior point guard established a school record for points scored with 35 and added seven steals and four assists in a 57-40 victory over Nampa Christian. The previous school record was 33 points set by current New Plymouth assistant Hollie Grooms (Foust) during the 2000-01 season. In a 46-18 victory over McCall-Donnelly, Garrick contributed 18 points. She also leads the 8-1 Pilgrims in assists and steals.


Aerial Groene, Mountain Home: The senior opened the season strong, winning the 106-pound weight class at the Calhoun Classic over the weekend in Nyssa, Ore. Groene pinned each of her opponents on her way to the championship match. In the title match, Groene defeated Caldwell's Austin Dempsey by technical fall (15-0).
