I voted for it for obvious reasons. I am a hunter and angler who respects the tradition that has been passed down through generations. I believe hunters, anglers and trappers are integral not only for wildlife management, but ensuring that all wildlife, whether or not it's utilized by hunters, anglers and trappers, has a chance to exist and thrive now and in the future.
I will do my best to support and maintain the healthy landscapes that wildlife depends upon for its survival. I realize those landscapes are critical to activities that I cherish, and that without one, you can not have the other.
I also appreciate that many people who do not participate in hunting, fishing or trapping supported the amendment. For them, I offer my gratitude that you respect and support our privilege to do them, and I promise that I will do my best to retain that respect and trust by behaving in a manner that does not embarrass myself or degrade people's perception of those activities.
To my fellow hunters and anglers, and those who trap, I hope you will join me in upholding the highest, honorable traditions of hunting, fishing and trapping and maintain the public's trust and support that we do them with the wildlife's best interests at heart and put those interests in front of our own.
And once again, thanks to all who respect, support and maintain these traditions for now and for future generations.
