Jaxon Pryor, Skyview: The junior running back led the Hawks (8-3) on the ground in their 4A state quarterfinal win over Minico. Pryor had 32 carries for a game-high 247 yards in a 28-14 victory. Skyview led 28-0 early in the fourth quarter. The Hawks now take on defending state champion Blackfoot (9-1) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Holt Arena in Pocatello.

Leighton Vander Esch, Salmon River: The Savages (8-2) advanced to the 1A Division II state semifinals with a 24-18 victory over Deary. Vander Esch completed 10-of-20 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and added the game-winning touchdown on a 26-yard run in the fourth quarter. The quarterback finished with 15 carries for 142 yards. Salmon River hosts Dietrich (9-0) at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Girls basketball games begin as early as Nov. 9, boys basketball games start Nov. 24 and wrestling matches begin Dec. 4.
