Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

1. HIT THE SKI SWAP
The white stuff is on the way. We hope. Either way, you need to unload your old crap … er, stuff. You need new stuff. And there is no better place to score fresh gear than the 62nd annual Ski Swap, which runs today through Sunday at Expo Idaho. It’s $5 today, $3 Saturday and $3 Sunday (or free with a canned food donation.)

2. PRETEND IT’S 1995
Yikes, Gen-Xers. Are the Toadies and Helmet now considered — gulp — “oldies” acts? Who cares? Get a babysitter and rock your face off tonight at the Revolution Center.

3. CHEER FOR THE BRONCOS
Boise State’s evening clash with San Diego State on Saturday has Mountain West Conference championship implications. Don’t have the cabbage for regular seats? You can snag 2-for-1s in the end zone. Sigh. I still can't believe they aren't playing "Gangnam Style" in the stadium.

4. CAVE IN
Come on, you know somebody in your life has bugged you to go check out the ”Nick Cave: Meet Me at the Center of the Earth” exhibit at Boise Art Museum. It runs through Sunday, then it’s gone forever.

5. ENJOY ARTS ON STAGE
Idaho Dance Theatre is in action today through Sunday. Boise Little Theater’s “Amadeus” runs today and Saturday then closes. And Ballet Idaho’s “Serenade” and more happens today and Saturday.

LDS Temple Open House

The LDS Temple is having an open house right now. And its free.

What a treat that is...

Hilariously original response. Bravo.

Why would anyone visit

a temple dedicated to a religion that discriminates against it's own parishioners? Maybe the majority of Mormons that will never ever be allowed in again might want to stop by and see what their tithing is paying for before the doors are slammed in their faces again.

Oh Woman,

this reminds me of the women voting for Romney

What's your beef, h8rs? I saw Boise's the 1st time-it was neat.

I'm not about to convert but I learned quite a lot about the religion. My mental health clinic day group went there with an open mind and also took all the literature from protesters to gather all viewponts.

Maybe you should do something similar. I don't care if you like or hate them, just learn something.

You can't afford to diminish your dating pool at the rate you're going anyway.

Do Your Mission

Some of those "yes" boys are doing their mission directing traffic to the "temple". That place wasn't that old and more money was spent and not a penny is paid for taxes. That's just wrong. And oh, what an ugly building.

At least they don't build until it's paid for...
