Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

When you aren't checking out photos from Thursday's bowel-rearranging Bassnectar concert or throwing your iPod earbuds in the trash:

1. DANCE IN COSTUME
What? You haven’t had enough EDM lately? You’re in luck: Audio Thrill is teaming up with the Revolution Center this year for the third annual Fright Fest tonight. Headlining DJs are DirtyRock and Rubikon 7.

2. GET SOME CULTURE
The season begins tonight for Opera Idaho, which is presenting Verdi’s comic masterpiece ”Falstaff.” The show continues with a matinee Sunday. Get a season preview here.

3. REV YOUR ENGINE
The Idaho Center welcomes indoor motorcycle racing Saturday night. Endurocross features an indoor track that mimics good ol’ Mother Nature’s logs, water crossings and dirt. Advance kids’ tickets are as low as $12.

4. SUPPORT NAMPA THEATER
The sixth annual Pix Gala happens Saturday night in Star with a “Back to the Future” theme. The goal? To continue raising funds for the Pix Theatre in downtown Nampa. Volunteers keep hosting fundraisers to raise money in hopes of reopening the space as a multi-use arts venue.

5. SCARE THE KIDS
The weather is less gnarly than it was a day or two ago, so it’s a great time to haul the rugrats to Boo at the Zoo on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds go to making improvements at Zoo Boise.
