Nampa residents' pleas to officials about cat on power pole lead to rescue Monday afternoon

Image

Earlier this afternoon, a fellow reporter said she saw a Craigslist posting about a cat that had been stuck on a power pole since Saturday.

The message said:

"Firemen can't help her because of the live power, the power company will just come 'knock her down' (their exact words).

She tried coming down and was burned. Please help us save her. We've called the TV stations and are told it's not a newsworthy enough story. Local papers are not responding either.

Show compassion people — help us save her. She is a companion pet and her owner is very upset."

I asked the poster to send me more information, and when she responded she said the cat — Fritz — was rescued Monday afternoon. The whole thing occurred near 157 1st Street North neighborhood.

Check out KBOI-Channel 2's photos and video of the rescue.

Good News

This is more "newsworthy" than a lot of other c rap that shows up here. At least it had a good outcome.

Yea!

Several years ago a bobcat chased our kitten up a tree. Our ladder wasn't long enough. I spent hours up on that ladder crooning to the kitty until he finally came down far enough to grab him. He is a strictly indoor cat now!
