Rocky Mountain High baseball player makes national team

Senior outfielder/pitcher Mason Smith recently made USA Baseball’s 18-and-under 2013 National Team Trials.

The righty, who has committed to Utah, was one of the first eight players chosen for the team, which was announced live on USABaseball.com last Friday.

“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Mason,” Mountain West Baseball Idaho Director Paul Cluff said. “... Now the bar raises to a new level for Idaho’s best players.”

USA Baseball selects and trains the World Baseball Classic, World Cup and Pan American teams.
