First District freshman Rep. Raul Labrador appeared in prime time with his party's brightest Hispanic stars Thursday, including New Mexico Gov. Susanna Martinez, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval.
The 3-minute, 40-second video aired on the final night of the Republican National Convention, with Martinez saying Hispanics have been "taken for granted" by Democrats, who traditionally win a heavy majority of Hispanic votes in presidential elections. GOP nominee Mitt Romney makes his appeal to Hispanics interspersed with the Hispanic elected officials.
Labrador appears following Martinez when she says, "We share the belief that America is truly an exceptional nation."
"And where with hard work, all dreams can come true," adds Labrador, who was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Las Vegas as a teenager.
Labrador appears in five brief clips, at 1:35, 2:31, 2:57, 3:28 and 3:34.
Labrador's campaign issued the following release late Thursday:

Congressman Raúl Labrador (ID-1) Featured in Prime Time RNC Convention Video
RNC Convention Headquarters, Tampa, Florida: Congressman Raúl Labrador released this statement regarding his participation in a prime time video of prominent Hispanic elected officials from across the United States.
Congressman Raúl Labrador, “The values of the Republican party appeal to all Americans regardless of gender, race or ethnic background. Americans are hurting and our communities are in decline. But instead of healing our nation, Obama has broken his promise to unite us and has left our country more divided than ever before. Hispanic (and other minority) communities have been hit particularly hard by Obama's policies. The Democrats say they care, but the results of their policies speak louder than their broken promises to all Americans.”
“I am honored to participate, side by side, with other Hispanic elected officials from across this great country. It truly is an incredible opportunity for me to voice my support for America’s comeback Team- Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, who have the experience to put America on the right track. Governor Romney’s successes in the private sector and Paul Ryan’s experience with government reform will make great strides in creating a competitive environment that will foster job growth for all Americans.”
Congressman Raúl Labrador (Idaho-1) participates as an advisor and surrogate for the Romney/Ryan campaign and is also a member of the Hispanic Steering Committee’s National Advisory Board.
