Concert news: My Morning Jacket show moved; AA5 finds final headliner; shows going on sale this weekend

— The Sept. 9 My Morning Jacket concert scheduled for the Idaho Botanical Garden has been moved to the Knitting Factory in Boise — “giving the Garden the opportunity to get an early start on the construction schedule for the 'Children’s Adventure Garden Project,'" according to promoter Knitting Factory. Taking that show indoors is a bummer. No two ways about it. It also tells us two things: That the concert has sold fewer than 999 advance tickets (the Knit’s capacity); and that it now possibly could sell out in advance. So if you want to go, it would be wise to buy those tickets now.

Update: More information just rolled in. Refunds are available at the point of purchase if you are unable to attend the show due to the change in venue. In addition, the start time has been bumped up to 6 p.m. doors, 7 p.m. music.

— The final Alive After Five headliner has been booked for “Record Exchange Night” on Sept. 26. It will be Texas country/Americana singer Hayes Carll.

Lame Knitting Factory Move

Deeds, will they give us a ticket refund? I'd rather get a refund than go to the Knitting Factory.

I agree

Same. Fairly disgusted with the decision to move the show indoors. Not sure why a concert experience I paid 50 dollars for should be altered because of a "Children’s Adventure Garden Project". If I'd known the show was going to be at the Knit I most likely would not have bought a ticket in advance.

Refunds!

thegoodword: Refunds were not mentioned in Knitting Factory's press release. The Knit's phone number is (208) 367-1212. See my update above.

Hench: Not sure what to tell you about the adventure garden. It must be an important project with dedicated workers to be getting an early start on a Sunday and bouncing My Morning Jacket out of the place.

Thanks Deeds!

Nice work on the update about refunds! I am interested to read your take on why Jane's Addiction played for just over an hour last night. Was Perry that drunk or was there just a pist poor contract written up that said as long as they play a hit or two, they can go back to their rooms and get another fix?

Sorry, no idea

I've gotten mixed comments about last night's Jane's show — that it was too short, or that it wasn't that short but did lack an encore. Outdoors writer Roger Phillips says it was "definitely longer" than just over an hour. I wasn't there. So I can't comment with any firsthand knowledge of the situation. What I can say is that the 75-minute "club" set isn't uncommon these days in an outdoor setting. Disappointing, yes, but not particularly rare.

vinyl

I like Hayes Carll has vinyl recording.

Been seening more modern artists recording vinyl.

Since new CD production is supposed to end in a year or two...
