Idaho Power hires Shawver to head communications team

Idaho Power picked Bill Shawver, the former director of the state’s Bureau of Homeland Security, as director of Corporate Communications.

Shawver, a 37-year veteran of the Idaho Air National Guard, will lead the investor-owned electric utility’s staff of employees that do external and internal communications, marketing and creative services. The utility has just completed an advertising campaign critical of wind power.

“Bill brings great experience in leadership, program management, communication and incident response, and we’re excited to have him on board,” said Jeff Malmen, vice president of Public Affairs in a press release.
