A reader sent me this photo of the dead bass at the boat ramps at Swan Falls. "We see this all the time and we don't understand why," he said. "If people choose to harvest bass they should treat it like a deer or an elk and not waste it. The only reason they waste nice 14-inch bass is because they catch more than they want to clean."
It's ridiculous that someone would kill these fish and then dump them, especially considering bass are a hardy fish and will typically survive catch-and-release fishing. If you see someone dumping fish or committing other crimes against wildlife, get a description of their vehicle and report them to Fish and Game. If they do the wrong thing, it's up to us to do the right thing. The Citizens Against Poaching hotline is (800) 632-5999. You don't have to memorize it, just remember it's on every license and tag you have, as well as in all F&G rules booklets. Here's an idea, program it into your cell phone now so it's always there. I just put it in mine.

That's right...
Keep your dead bass off our shores.
Stinks big time.
