Party time at R. Grey Gallery

The Downtown jewelry gallery won top honors in a recent ranking of the country's coolest small jewelry stores. To see the in-depth, photo-packed profile, click here.

They're celebrating over at R. Grey Gallery on Friday, Sept. 14, with a party from 5 to 9 p.m. The party is open to everyone, and there will be live music, entertainment, food and drinks.

The award was pretty huge for R. Grey, since they were up against 107 other shops. The annual competition has been running for 10 years. Stores were judged for their facades, their interiors, the store's biography, how they advertise, their website and their individuality.

"We knew we had a good chance of getting in the top three, but when we heard we had won we were elated," said Robert Grey Kaylor in a press release. "It is a huge honor to have this title. Our business has continued to expand over the last 26 years, and our goal is to continue to make changes and improvements to make it even better."

I wonder

how the R. Grey Condos on the same street are doing.

Good question!

They were sold at auction last summer, according to our reporter Sandra Forester's story.
