The Boise Philharmonic looks to fill executive director’s spot

The Boise Philharmonic will launch a national search for a new executive director this fall after Tom Bennett’s resignation last week.

In the interim, past board president John Steadman will step into the position until after the orchestra’s current “Picnic at the Pops” series. Tony Boatman will take over on Sept. 4 during the search. Steadman will assist on the fundraising side. Boatman, who hired music director Robert Franz, ran the philharmonic from 2000 until he retired in 2010.

More details will be available as the search process moves forward.
