Former Treasure Valley prep athletes: Where are they now?

Here is an update on some former Treasure Valley athletes now competing at the college level:

Jacob Johnston, Eagle High: The 2009 graduate wrapped up his career at Saddleback College (Calif.) by signing a letter of intent to play football for Northern Arizona beginning with the 2012 season. Last season, the 6-foot-1 defensive back led the Gaucho defense with 73 tackles and two fumble recoveries while also forcing a fumble, intercepting two passes and adding seven pass breakups. His performance led to a unanimous selection as an All-National Southern Conference performer.

Eric Dzwilewski, Centennial High: In preparation for his junior campaign at the University of Calgary, the quarterback was selected to participate in the Calgary Stampeders' training camp. In the past few months, several stories have been written about Dzwilewski. Read those stores here and here.

Morgen Trube, Mountain View High: The 2012 graduate recently committed to the University of Alabama Birmingham for cheerleading.

Cody Rome, Eagle High: The recent graduate of the United States Naval Academy received the school's highest athletic award: the NAAA Sword for Men. Rome was also named an academic All-American after completing his senior season in track and field for the Midshipmen. Rome is a five-time Patriot League track and field champion and a six-time runner-up. He is the school record holder in the 3,000 meters and helped lead the Mids to four Patriot League cross country titles and two track and field titles. He is a three-time All-Patriot League selection in cross country and was a 2011 CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American.
