Centennial High football team wins 7-on-7 passing tournament

The Patriots entered Saturday’s elimination games as the 14th seed out of 16 teams at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Football Challenge at the Boise Optimist Youth Sports Complex.

Centennial, which went 1-4 on Friday, beat Mountain View 26-23 in the title game.

The Patriots made their way to the championship by beating Eagle, Meridian and Fruitland.

Seniors Darian Seifert and Evan Radke each took turns at quarterback for the Patriots.

"The thing that I liked the best about our football team is they competed," Centennial coach Lee Neumann said. "They got better and better as the tournament progressed. They played hard."

On Friday, Capital won the Lineman’s Challenge game of tug-of-war.
