Summer may have just begun but it’s not too early to think about the defining event of the year for we craft beer enthusiasts — the Great American Beer Festival in Denver from Oct.11 to 13.
Tickets for the GABF go on sale for the general public Aug. 2. My advice, if you are planning to go,is to buy tickets as soon as they go on sale. All four sessions (55,000 tickets!) sold out in less than a week last year.
The cost is $65 per ticket for the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night sessions. The Saturday afternoon session (the best one, by the way) is $55, but you have to be a member of the American Home Brewers Association to buy a ticket. Click here for more detailed info.
Every craft beer nut should go to the GABF at least once. Where else can you try as many as 2,000 beers from all over the U.S. and hang out with thousands of people who share similar interests?
I’ve gone to the GABF at least a half dozen times and it never gets old. There is always something new to try and the vibes are always good. If you are planning on going, get a hotel room as soon as possible. In fact, you want to make sure you can get a room before you even think about buying a GABF ticket.
