1. FIRE UP THOSE CLICKERS
Cyclists will zoom through Downtown Boise during the annual Twilight Criterium on Saturday. Riding starts at 2:30 p.m. with the Kristin Armstrong kids event, but the biggest crowds show up later when the Men’s Pro race roars past.
2. MOSH WITH JOSH
As if. Former Idahoan Josh Ritter may not exactly headbang, but his smart, thoughtful lyrics can create their own sort of brain-related injury if you don’t stay sharp. Check out the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter (and author) Saturday night at the Knitting Factory.
3. SMELL THE FLOWERS
Shock your lady and suggest spending time together wandering fields of lavender at one of the festivals in the Treasure Valley this weekend. Seriously, dude, it won’t kill you. A roundup of options is here.
4. STAMPEDE TO NAMPA
The annual Snake River Stampede celebration kicks off Saturday — and as explained here — it’s a lot more than a rodeo. (Actually, it's all party this weekend. The rodeo part begins Tuesday.)
5. MOTOR OUT OF BOISE
Northwest Motorfest fires up Saturday and Sunday at Expo Idaho, where you’ll see hundreds of muscle cars, classics and hotrods parked on the Garden City grass. Or peel out Saturday night and head to Meridian, which will host the Main Street Cruise — which formerly was held in Boise.
