ImageWhether the creep of electronics into the outdoors is a good thing or a bad thing, it's spawned some pretty interesting gadgets. The new portable Etón FRX3 radio is self-powered, using either solar power or hand-turbine energy to recharge its internal lithium ion battery.

Along with an AM/FM/WB digital radio and display with NOAA weather alert, the FRX3 also uses its internal battery to charge other mobile devices when they are connected via the integrated USB port. Other features include a bright LED flashlight, glow-in-the-dark indicator for easy location, AC and DC input, headphone jack and digital alarm.
