1. JOIN THE SONG THRONG
Don’t deny it. You want to strut around singing “Hey now! You’re an all star!” like a dork with Smash Mouth. You want to throw punches at the air while LL Cool J
barks “Mama Said Knock You Out.” You won’t be alone at Saturday’s Boise Music Festival. But will the massive party be the same now that it’s in Garden City?
2. BANG. YER. HEAD.
Because, you know, metal health will drive you mad. Volbeat, Hellyeah, Iced Earth and Heart-Set Self-Destruct will curb-stomp eardrums at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Knitting Factory.
3. ESCAPE TO SUN VALLEY
The Sun Valley Shakedown will showcase JJ Grey & Mofro, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and DJ Logic starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Sun Valley Festival Meadows. Afterward, Logic will head over to Whiskey Jacques to spin the crowd into a frenzy.
5. GET TRAINED
Union Pacific Railroad is celebrating its 150th anniversary, which means serious train action is headed to the Boise Depot on Sunday. Check out the E9 Streamliner locomotive and other exhibits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s free.
