1. PARTY IN HYDE PARK
I cycle to work. I will do so unless one of the motorists who regularly attempt to leave my boys fatherless finally succeeds. But that’s not why I’m hyping the Boise Bicycle Project’s two-week Pedal 4 the People festival. I’m hyping it because I love live music. And beer. And Hyde Park. As long as some jackwagon North Ender doesn’t call police, Saturday’s grand finale bash should be a blast from 6 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot behind 13th Street Pub & Grill. Details here.
2. GET NAPPY
Alternative hip-hop fans know where to get their fix. Reef in Downtown Boise has another notable act visiting: Grammy-nominated Southern rap crew Nappy Roots at 10 p.m. Saturday night. Tickets are $10 at the door.
4. JOIN THE CIRCUS
Or at least watch it. The El Korah Shrine Circus is in town all weekend for performances at CenturyLink Arena. Buy tickets here. Kids can get a preview at a circus parade at 10 a.m. Saturday starting at 10th and Jefferson streets.
5. BE GREEN
The Idaho Green Expo has pumped up the volume this year with live music and 140 vendors. Bands start at noon Saturday with acts including a.k.a. Belle and continue Sunday. Get more details here or find out a list of places to get 2-for-1 tickets here. (Tickets cost $5.)
