Redfish, Sawtooths and Driftwood

Idaho celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area this year. The SNRA was created as an alternative to a national park to protect the south central Idaho destination spot. The area includes Redfish Lake, one of the most popular camping and recreation choices for Idahoans. Look for more photos Sunday in a photo gallery.Image

Sawtooth NRA

I was the first Deputy Sheriff in the Stanley area, started 4/1/73, they said the area was to lawless, and the sheriff didn't know anyone to appoint, I loved heck out of the work, like going back 100 years, The famous Stanley stomp was a kitty cat compared to the wild towns I had been in, in the far east, I would drive into the middle of the brawl, they we more afraid of me, and my 14 pd flashlight, and would quit brawling, the saying was get out of town, south to Jerome or North to jail, the 8 years I policed The Sawtooth NRA was the most enjoyable time of my life

All I got was a butch for getting cooties when I was 9
