Blues-rock act Indigenous to play ... Meridian bar

Blues-rock band Indigenous, a Native American group that made noise in the late ’90s, will gig June 6 at the The New Frontier Club, 116 E. Broadway Ave., Meridian. $10 cover.

Nope, that's not a misprint. Despite the fact that my call to the bar wasn't returned, I'm assured by the booking agent that this show is 100-percent confirmed.

Indigenous’ lineup has changed since the band’s heyday, but the group is still fronted by singer-guitarist Mato Nanji. That’s all that matters. Nanji is a ferocious guitar player who effortlessly conjures up the ghosts of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. This is an old video with the prior backing band, but you get the picture. The dude is sick:

D-Day

Can't wait to see this band again and hope the personnel changes are positive. If I remember correctly, they were all family members in the band when I saw them at the River Fest and the opening of Gold's in East Boise. Deeds is correct, this guy is "sick" with a guitar.
