BASEBALL

Robby Degen, Bishop Kelly: The Knights won the 4A District Three championship 15-9 against Middleton to earn the league's top seed at this week's state tournament. Degen, a sophomore, had key hits all week, including three home runs. In the title game, Degen went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs.

SOFTBALL

Courtney Moore, Mountain View: In two 5A District Three Tournament games last week, Moore pitched a pair of shutouts to lead the Mavericks to the district title. The sophomore struck out eight with two walks and three hits in a 10-0 semifinal win against Centennial. She then added seven strikeouts, no walks and four hits in the Mavericks' 5-0 win over Capital in the championship.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Kyli McSpadden, Mountain View: The senior sprinter was the only athlete to win four events at the 5A District Three meet. McSpadden, who has committed to Utah State, won the 100 (12.36 seconds) and 200 (25.44) and ran a leg on the Mavericks' winning 4x100 (48.67) and 4x400 (3:59.9) relay teams. The Mountain View girls also won their second consecutive team championship.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

James Heckendorn, Eagle: The junior was the winningest male at the 5A District Three meet. Heckendorn won the 400 meters in 49.30 seconds and ran a leg on the Mustangs' winning 4x200 (1:30.70) and 4x400 (3:22.82) relay teams. The Eagle boys finished second as a team, 16 points behind defending state champion Rocky Mountain.

GIRLS TENNIS

Emily Tesnohlidek, Fruitland: The Grizzlies won the 3A District Three team championship with the help of Tesnohlidek, who claimed an individual district championship in girls singles. The senior, who finished second at state last year, will be the league's No. 1 seed at the state tournament.

BOYS TENNIS

Bryce Nattress, Fruitland: The Grizzlies fell just short of a second consecutive 3A District Three team championship, but not because of Nattress. The junior, who finished third at state last year, won an individual title in boys singles. He will be the league's No. 1 seed at this week's state tournament.

GIRLS GOLF

Gabby Barker, Vallivue: The junior won her first 5A District Three championship as an individual, firing a 1-under 71 at TimberStone Golf Course. Her performance also helped the Falcons win the team championship by one stroke over defending champion Rocky Mountain.

BOYS GOLF

Kyle Bendawald, Rocky Mountain: The junior finished two strokes ahead of a strong field at the 5A District Three Tournament at Boise Ranch Golf Course. Bendawald shot a 2-under 69 to help the Grizzlies earn a spot at the state tournament.
