Summertime rolls: Jane's Addiction, Counting Crows to perform concerts at Idaho Botanical Garden

Thanks to promoter Knitting Factory, August just keeps heating up at the Idaho Botanical Garden. Alternative-rock band Jane’s Addiction — best known for its outstanding late '80s/early '90s albums “Nothing’s Shocking” and “Ritual de lo Habitual” — will perform Wednesday, Aug. 29, as part of the Garden’s Outlaw Field Concert Series.

The Garden also will welcome rock band Counting Crows for a Monday, Aug. 6, show. The Crows had hits in the '90s such as "Round Here" and "Mr. Jones."

Jane’s still brings it live. The Orange County Register wrote recently that “They seem as reinvigorated as vampires who just guzzled down the blood of a hundred virgins,” and that the band “smacked the crowd in its collective solar plexus with brute strength.”

Tickets to Jane's Addiction go on sale for $40 general admission at 10 a.m. May 18 at Ticketfly.

Tickets to Counting Crows cost $45 and also go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketfly.

Sweet!!!

40 bucks for a great rock show? I'm there!!!

"Nothing's Shocking" is from 1988

Already saw them a couple times back in the day, and I work a swing shift. So I'll likely pass. One of those times was one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Who knew that Primus would've been the best act out of a Jane's/Pixies/Primus bill (Pixies hated each other by that time and looked extremely bored and irritated)? Perry was jacked up on his drug of choice that night a little more than usual seemingly. I remember Dave stumbling around. They weren't too tight, and it was a pretty short show. When their box set came out and I saw that they had an entire gig on it, I did a double take when I saw the date and location. I searched for my old ticket stub and sure enough, the show that I thought was ghastly made it on to their box set. Still can't believe it.

So excited!!!
