Sophomore Courtney Moore pitched a four-hit shutout to lead Mountain View High to a 5-0 victory over Capital in Wednesday's 5A District Three softball championship game at Timberline High.
Moore struck out seven batters and did not allow a walk in the complete-game win.
Offensively, sophomore short stop Taurie Pogue got the Mavericks' offense going with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Mountain View (23-2) and Capital (11-14) each advance to next week's state tournament at Capell Park in Chubbuck.
