Boise State's Patton named Mountain West men's tennis coach of the year

Boise State men's tennis coach Greg Patton was named Mountain West Coach of the Year on Thursday. Patton, in his 16th season with the Broncos, guided Boise State to the Mountain West tournament title and a 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Boise State is 26-6 on the season and went 5-0 in Mountain West regular-season play.

Boise State plays Florida State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on May 12.

It is the 10th conference coach of the year award in 16 seasons for Patton, who has earned the honor in the Big Sky, Big West, Western Athletic Conference and the Mountain West.

San Diego State's Peter Mattera is the women's coach of the year.
